Too late, but I least I spent the day doing something I like. I'm not the only one in the family with a birthday today, so since it's a holiday weekend coming up we're celebrating then.

Wait!
Didn't he do one of these last year?
I thought us old guys skipped a couple two or three years between birthdays?
No. That's women. Ok, got it.
Well, Percy, Congratulations on still being alive. If you're going to continue in this annual pattern thing then hopefully we can say the same thing next time.

Thanks all!
Even though we're not celebrating until this weekend, we still had ice cream.

We just don't remember them. We have to calculate to figure out how old we are - that's when we can remember what year it is.

Percy's not doing much this weekend cept' some presents and cake. Maybe he could write up a quick sub-routine to do those calculations for you.
Naw, that won't work. With his advanced age he'll probably forget where he stored it when he gets back here on Monday.

As Groucho used to say, "That's the magic word".
Life would be SO good if ice cream was health food!

Aww Boss, I missed your birthday. Was busy all yesterday.
Can you ever forgive me? Will this affect my review?
Happy Birthday!

New suggestion
Currently we see
(thread title)
when we look at All Topics, where the first image (down arrow) sends you to the last unread post and the second image (file folder) lets you mark all posts as "already read" (whether they were or not).
How about a third image (folder with a diagonal red line?) that allows you to mark it as "always already read" ...
enjoy

Re: New suggestion
Please explain.
In my system the down arrow means all messages read. Clicking it takes you to the last message in the thread not the first unread since there are no unread.
The right arrow
means there are unread posts and clicking it takes you to the first unread.
The folder changes the read condition of all messages in the thread. If the are any unread messages (right arrow) then clicking the folder marks all messages as read (down arrow appears).
If all messages have been read (down arrow) then clicking the folder marks all messages in the thread as unread (right arrow appears).
Where does your new image come in?
Right now, if I see a down arrow, I have already read the messages in that thread and it will stay down-arrow until someone posts a new message I haven't read. If I see a right arrow I know that there are unread posts in that thread.
Are you looking for a kinda "ignore" thread symbol? Where all new posts are marked as read and the down arrow doesn't change?

Re: New suggestion
There are threads I have zero interest in reading.
I would like to either mark them permanently all read of hide them.

Re: New suggestion
Yeah, I can think of a few threads I would like to not spoil my view of the list. I go thru and click the folder to mark them "all read" so my brain skips over the down arrows. It would be good to click it once for automatic ignore.
Look as us RAZD. We are complaining about having to click a button numerous times to constantly ignore a thread. This has got to be some kind of deep sad commentary on human psychology. Percy has us spoiled already but it's just not good enough for our lazy fingers. But that's alright. Coding all this extra stuff helps keep that old delinquent off the streets at night.

I didn't even know there was such a button. Ignorance is bliss.
