I'm posting this here because it has no scientific basis to go into the Biological Evolution ⇒ New Species of Homo Discovered: Homo naledi thread or others there.
But looking at Dr. A's repost of the picture of skulls in Message 73 from that thread, which of those would you say was closest to this skull?:
As you can see, I picked homo ergaster, H, but there are problems there. Here is the picture of the skulls again:

Are you saying that homo ergaster had the technology to go to Mars?

That's just a confluence of shadow. Martians had longer snouts.

Easter Island Apocalypse

No, I'm going with Easter Islanders.
There's a 50-ton body* under that head. Note how similar are the denuded landscapes of Mars and Easter Island; ecological collapse is already proposed in the case of the latter.
They wrecked Mars, landed on Easter Island and wrecked it, too, before they could get off, and perished.
Or maybe not.

That's what I was thinking when I read Omni's post. Homo ergaster came from Mars and Earth is their Gilligan's Island.

actually ...
Actually they came from Venus, after destroying the environment there, and tried to set up colonies on both Earth and Mars. The martian one died out, and erosion has obliterated the evidence of the extensive canal transportation system they used to have.
On the Earth the colony dispersed so fast that their knowledge was lost as they tried to survive in the new ecology -- it was the first great forgetting.
