Recently I purchased an Amazon Echo, 2nd Generation smart speaker. As I interacted with the technology, it reminded me of some of the other interactions in my life that had changed in some way how I thought and of my expressions of my needs for entertainment, information, and my internal questioning voice...as well as my demanding one.
Before I continue my story and my opinions regarding this subject, I'd like to ask the EvC readers whether any of them have dealt with an Amazon Echo, Google Assistant, or Smartphone Siri before and what their opinions are on the subject of interactive technology and human development.

Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. For science and philosophy to continue to advance in knowledge, chance must be demythologized once and for all. —RC Sproul
