I understand the argument against evolution, but the Big Bang??? The big bang is perfectly compatible with Genesis 1. "And God said, let there be light, and there was light" BOOM. The big bang occured. On the second day He seperated the heavens from the Earth (Formation of the Solar system, including earth) on the third, He seperated the seas from the land, on on the forth, he made the sun, moon and stars. (I would believe the skies of earth cleared so these objects became visible.) Those who argue that this was 24 hour days, are both right and wrong, both on scientific and religious grounds. Religious, because the Bible says a thousand years is to God as one day, and one day is to God like a thousand years. This illustrates that God do not necesarily follow our time. Scientifically because of the theory of relitivity. If you move close to the speed of light, your 24 hours might very well be 1 billion years to someone else...(Ofcause God do not move, He is everywhere present.)
So why the argument against evolution? Personally I object to the following. (These are only my religious reasons. I have scientific reasons as well, but these are well known).
1. God made all species acording to its type. He did not make one from the other.
2. God said "It is good", meaning that his creation was perfect. Death, which is a necesary part of evolution, is not perfect.
3. God warned Adam and Eve not to eat from a specific tree, or they would die. Thus, death is the result of sin. This is confirmed in Romans 8:20.
However, dispite this, I also hold the posibility that I might be wrong, and that God DID use evolution. We cannot know. But one day, when we're with God, we will know everything. What is more, it is more important to know where we're going, than to know where we're coming from.
Now I know there are non-Christians reading this website. I wouldn't know why. Before you reply to me saying I disbelieve science if favour of superstition, I will let you know, I believe in science as far as it interfere with my believe in the Bible, and the only "science" in this catogory is evolusion. Also, keep in mind, this is not a debate for atheists. This is a debate about how God and Science comes together. Naturally, if you don't believe in God, you wouldn't stand much of a chance to convinc1e or be convinced by your opposition. I need to say this as I have recieved a reply from an atheist before, telling me religion is "evil". I understand his point of view, but faith in God is a wee bit harder tobreak than that.

Welcome Hanno. I amo one of the non-Christians you mentioned. I participated because the creationist Christians are exporting their views to my religion, and I stood alone against my brethren now.
