The "Posts of the Month" forum index page. These topics listed at the above page are still available for additions.----- Now for January 2004 (as per previous months):
quote: Please post your votes for the January, 2004, Post of the Month here. Include author, forum name, thread name, post number, eg: Name: Velvet Tongue Forum: Evolution Thread: I'm no monkey Post #: 17
A link to the message, and perhap a SHORT comment would also be nice. But, this is NOT a place to debate the referenced topic - so be nice. I think that a fairly liberal use of this topic would be a good thing for indexing some nice messages that are otherwise doomed to be lost in the clutter. So, if you encounter a message that seems to say something of special substance, please give it a plug/reference in this topic. New year, new month, same old message and routine, Adminnemooseus

Name: Percy Forum: Faith and Belief Thread: Amazing people of amazing faith, who believe so very much! Post #: 64 As noted above. I need nothing more to say. Percy does an excellent job of describing evolutionary biology. [This message has been edited by JIM, 01-04-2004]

Name: Holmes Forum: Faith and Belief Thread: Why I am a Zionist Post #: 33 A short message that really hits the spot. It sums up nicely how some people will accept anything, even murder, if it looks as if it is going to support their particular fairytale. {Added the "33" to the URL, so that the link will go directly to the message - AM} [This message has been edited by Adminnemooseus, 01-04-2004]

Everything Bill Berkeland posts is prime?
Name: Bill Berkeland Forum: Dates and Dating Thread: For whatever - your insult, and radioisotope dating Post #: 3 This is just the most recent Bill Berkeland geology related posting, once again with fine inclusions of links and other references. I'm starting to think that Bill deserves an index topic of his own. For now, people can go to the sites search utility, and "search by member" for "Bill Berkeland". Moose

POTY
Is it possible to consider a Post Of The Year? I suggest this be pulled from the POTMs and each person gets one vote or maybe, better, a ranked list of top 3 or 5 votes and we can spend a month or two arguing over how to process that data, . That will be fun if the other discussions get too slow.
Common sense isn't

Re: POTY
I like this idea, though perhaps one POTY is a little restrictive. There could be a POTY for each main topic area... kind of like categories at the Academy Awards. Or there could just be a POSTERS of the Year, with congrats going to the three members who have the most nominations. Just throwing out some ideas to make it all the more complicated. Heheh.

Welcome to the Percies, or is that Percys?
What about a topic of the year, or a topic of the year from each forum! Brian.

Thanks Jack for nominating that post. I probably would have missed it otherwise. I think it was an excellent post, putting certain things into a perspective I had not considered, and I will most likely steal it for future use. So I second the nomination.

Not at all sure how this fits into the greater context, but I thought this little detail on the evolution of a symbiotic relationship between amoeba and bacteria was an interesting touch. Moose Added by edit: See message 88 also. [This message has been edited by minnemooseus, 01-20-2004]
