For June, 2005 (as per previous months):
quote: Please post your votes for the June, 2005, Posts of the Month here. Include author, forum name, thread name, post number, eg: Name: Velvet Tongue Forum: Biological Evolution Thread: I'm no monkey Post #: 17
A link to the message, and perhap a SHORT comment would also be nice. But, this is NOT a place to debate the referenced topic - so be nice. I think that a fairly liberal use of this topic would be a good thing for indexing some nice messages that are otherwise doomed to be lost in the clutter. So, if you encounter a message that seems to say something of special substance, please give it a plug/reference in this topic. New month, new moderator, same old message and routine, AdminAsgara

Name: Asgara Forum: Faith and Belief Thread: Is Christ cruel? (For member Schrafinator) Post #: 39 This is the old, old argument that if God knows the future, including the "choices" that people will make, then there is no such thing as "free will" (or similar to it). But I have never seen it phrased so well -- heck, I'm almost convinced!

While we're on the subject...
Name: Chiroptera Forum: Faith and Belief Thread: Is Christ cruel? (For member Schrafinator) Post #: 26 It makes a very important and oft-ignored point about the nature of belief. Short and simple, but the phrasing somehow manages to make it much clearer and more convincing than I ever can manage in several paragraphs.

Re: While we're on the subject...
I vote for Faith and Phatboy in that thread. People don't realise it, but it's as simple as Phatboy stated it, that God's intention won't change if you sin and go to hell. God intended to create you in his image, and essentially, someone foreseeing something doesn't make them guilty of it.

This isn't a thread to vote on winners/losers in discussions. Please nominate posts for Post of the Month here. See the above examples.

Brian sums it up.
Message 116 Brian sums up not just one particular discussion but really everything said on this board for several years. This should be part of the introction to the site. Post of the year

Cheers Ned, I've been needing to get that off my chest for a long time now. Thanks again. Brian.

Faith sets a perfect example.
Message 151 This post is in my opinion worthy of both a POTM and the partial permanent suspension that I (and alter ego) have awarded it. It is a classic! It makes points better than many others could manage (even Brian who has done well on pointing out this kind of thinking and behaviour).

Ah the madcap rules of Wonderland
I find this absolutely remarkable but quite par for the course nevertheless. You would levy a partial restriction from evidence-based threads for my non-evidence-based post on a non-evidence-based thread? Truly remarkable. Kinda Kafkaesque as I've had occasion to point out here before. But that's all right. This is Wonderland and you make the rules. {EDIT: Please remove my post from nomination. This is an outrage.
