It seems that foxnews.com has a page dedicated to evolution. I haven't explored it in detail but just looking at the titles of some of the articles suggests that it's a scientific treatment of the topic, and not a forum from cdesign proponentist propaganda. Interesting.

i poked at a few articles and they looked laughably simplified if not inaccurate.

I don't want to make it sound like I'm defending Foxnews, because I'm not, but it's my impression that most mass media news stories about science are laughably simplified and inaccurate.

yeah. but some of the titles on these alone directly contradict stories i've heard here and on npr. like the one on the "hobbit". i thought it was pretty clear that was a distinct species?

And the title says it was a distinct species.

Hmmmmm, most curious. The title I see is, "'Hobbit' Was Distinct Species, Wrist Bones Indicate."
I also noted that there was an article about some goober who was suing over losing his job at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution because he didn't believe in evolution. The article contains this quote:
quote:
Evolution is a fundamental tenet of biology that says new species emerge because of genetic changes to organisms that, over time, favor their survival. Creationists believe in a literal reading of the Bible's story of creation.
No pussy footing around, trying to demean evolution as only a theory or elevate creationism to anything other than a particular interpretation of the bible.
I'd be willing to bet that a substantial portion of Foxnews viewers would be more than a tad disturbed about the contents of this page.

i'm willing to bet that i've seen more than one of these articles verbatim somewhere else. so i'll bet they're republishing.

Well, several of the ones that I looked at had an AP designation, so I have no doubt that they're passing on AP stories, as well as other outlets.
