I was reading over Genesis when I noticed something peculiar. Here we have creation of the sun, moon and stars.
Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Gen 1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also.
Gen 1:17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
Gen 1:17 is the critical flaw here since it gives us a location common to the sun,the moon and the stars. The firmament is heaven and this corresponds to what we call space. How can heaven be a spiritual place of repose when the bible gives us clear location in the words of Genesis that it is in the physical universe we see around us? Also, since there are waters above the fimament how are we to explain that?
I wll hold off further lines till later.

Hi Sidelined.
The best I can do at this point is refer you to my online works regarding the peculiarities of ancient science evidenced in Genesis. There's quite a bit of material here but for the subject at hand I would recommend the pages: Heaven and Nature and Heaven Under Water
Please let me know what you think of them.
