On this glorious Fathers Day of 2012, I would like to reflect on the faith of the fathers of this once great land. After all, nothing breaks deadlocks and gets things done quicker than seeing the future and how it affects our children and our grandchildren...from a Daddy point of view. In addition, the reason that I posted this topic in Coffee House was due to the fact that this is not simply a religious issue.
Some fathers have faith in Mitt Romney and his soundbite platform of solutions for the future. Yes, we do need to provide jobs, though I disagree that minimum wage jobs are helping the problem. Our kids DO need to become better educated, of course, but then again so do we adults!! Personally, I would like to see free education made available for everyone so that we all move ahead. (and no, I am not a father, although technically as a mentor I have lots of grateful kudos for helping enlighten incarcerated mentees )
A few questions up for discussion:
Shall we attempt to form a consensus as fathers with the other fathers in the world, or shall we look out for our own children first...as Americans?
What do we need to focus on....as fathers....for the betterment of our children?
What should our priorities be? What do we want to see our children doing in their adult lives and what are some worthy goals and aspirations?
Finally...what can we do for ourselves to better prepare us to guide our families towards a better future?
Oh and by the way...Happy Fathers Day for all you Dads out there!

As part of the younger-ish generation, I'd like to see us getting together a manned expedition to Mars. I know, I know, it might sound silly and all (after all, we don't have the money, do we? That's a common claim), but it's time we leave our cradle Earth and start exploring and colonizing other heavenly bodies. It'd not only open a whole new world of opportunity, but it would also give the younger generation hope for the future, and something to dream about. If only we had the courage to build a colony on Mars...to dream the impossible dream... (as you can all clearly see, this is something I'm passionate about ).

What do we want for the next generation?

Not unless we would reap more money out of our discovery.
(One thing I dont understand about global debt is who it is owed to. )
Anyway, we as fathers have a responsibility to choose the best project that will help future generations. Again....what should this project be?

I don't know about you, but I shelled out $450 for a gift on father's day.

The irony of adults who have ruined everything trying to tell kids how to do things right does not escape the younger generations. They see right through the bullshit.
You want to help kids? Leave them alone.
