What brand RAM? If you're not a geek, what the fuck do you need a 560 Ti for? If you're going AMD, get a ATI card. Depending on how much gaming you do, a 5770 would be sufficient. That way, you can crossfire later if you want. As far as hard drives go, get a smallish SSD and a 1tb Samsung Sinpoint F3 instead of that slow green one you picked out.
Find a motherboard that has SATA 6gb/s instead of SATA 3gb/s, and AM3+ to leave yourself open to upgrade to Bulldozer (the new AMD chip that will soon be released)."Why don't you call upon your God to strike me? Oh, I forgot it's because he's fake like Thor, so bite me" -Greydon Square

Oh, and what about a power supply? I recommend a Corsair TX series. Wattage is up to you, but I'd go at least 500 watts.

If you're not a geek, what the fuck do you need a 560 Ti for? Well the a cheaper unoverclocked version wasn't in stock so i went all out lol
If you're going AMD, get a ATI card. Never in my life had an ati card lol never had an AMD processor before to lol gonna check what they have in stock
Depending on how much gaming you do, a 5770 would be sufficient. Yea i upgrade every 5 years or just usually buy a new comp so i need one that lasts
As far as hard drives go, get a smallish SSD and a 1tb Samsung Sinpoint F3 instead of that slow green one you picked out. The SSD drives are expensive as shit and i dont need my windows to load in 8 seconds lol, dont have F3s in stock and i need a new comp yesterday
Find a motherboard that has SATA 6gb/s instead of SATA 3gb/s, and AM3+ to leave yourself open to upgrade to Bulldozer (the new AMD chip that will soon be released). Will do but just about everything is going out of stock its like they are having a fire sale things that where there yesterday are gone today
What brand RAM?

If you're just going single card, then getting Nvidia is fine. However, if you plan on ever going Crossfire or SLI, you have to be careful and match your motherboard and shit. For instance: I have an AMD chip, but my board only supports SLI (SLI is the Nvidia dual GPU set-up, Crossfire is ATI's). The board you picked out supports Crossfire. You can go to a site called GPU review where you can compare video card performance.
The SSD drives are expensive as shit and i dont need my windows to load in 8 seconds lol, dont have F3s in stock and i need a new comp yesterday Then get a Western Digital Caviar Black, not the green."Why don't you call upon your God to strike me? Agreed; if you're committed to an AMD cpu, definitely want to get an ATI video card. It's a lot less likely to have weird incompatibility problems.
I just put together a monster system for my in-laws for around $800 (they're Intel partisans so AMD wasn't on the table):
quote: I've been burned by ASUS motherboards before, but this one was badass. Their Republic of Gamers-branded stuff is top-notch, IMO - I've been using their G51 laptop for two years now, love it. (Battery life is just long enough to last from my desk to the couch.) Corsair ram is fine; I've used PNY and Kingston many times in the past as well, all rock-solid in my experience. But honestly these days I just buy laptops. The hardware doesn't lag as much as it used to and the price difference is worth being able to take your main computer anywhere. Of course, that was before the iPad. Next go-round I might get a desktop system again (and a huge monitor) and an iPad for computing on the go.

Intels prices compared to the small bit their processors are better then AMDs made me go for an amd this time.
Cmmon who in their right mind pays 1000$ for a processor i can get a badas computer for that money. I know it thrums everything out there performance wise but there are no games out there that can take full advantage of that kind of power.Christianity, One woman's lie about an affair that got seriously out of hand Jesus was a dead jew on a stick nothing more

Cmmon who in their right mind pays 1000$ for a processor Not me. The Core i7 I got is the fastest chip they make for LGA1155 motherboards, just shy of their "Extreme" editions, and it was only $300 on Newegg.com. I think it's more important to pick the motherboard first - research a few of the different "performance" chipsets, look for features you're likely to want, and then get the fastest CPU that it'll support. Starting with the CPU usually means a fair bit of sticker shock when you go to look at mobos, and then you'll be tempted to cut corners. That's usually where you get burned - bad thermals, bad power filtering. I bought a motherboard for a Pentium D once that supported it only in single-core mode. WTF? All because I was committed to Pentium D and cut corners on the board for it. Bad idea.

Well they cant screw me over that way consumer rights and all that if something does not work and they dont point out that that configuration wont work or will have problems then i can return it, and i can return it in 8 days for no reason at all.

consumer rights and all that if something does not work and they dont point out that that configuration wont work or will have problems If they did do this, it would just be an example of them going above and beyond their customer service. It is up to you to match components properly. However, most good companies will cut you some slack (Newegg). You are buying components as a builder, therefor it is up to you to have the knowhow."Why don't you call upon your God to strike me? Agreed; if you're committed to an AMD cpu, definitely want to get an ATI video card. It's a lot less likely to have weird incompatibility problems. This is not entirely true, and actually is a false rumor based on the fact that Nvidia markets for Intel and bases there products on Intel, with AMD being a (relatively) late comer to the CPU game. There is absolutely nothing wrong with running a single card and any board you want, AMD or Nvidia. The ONLY limitations you run into is when you go SLI/ Crossfire. However, more and more chipsets are coming out that can support both SLI and Crossfire both. It's just a matter of checking the chipset. Like I said, my AMD board has an Nvidia chipset and only supports SLI, but I have a Radeon HD 5770 with no issue."Why don't you call upon your God to strike me? Actualy no they are responsible because they ship me the whole box already built and tested. They would have a hard time going around that if they dint want to give me my money back and id go to court. I do choose the components but their site recommends most there is a special advanced option though but the prices are also higher for components that are sometimes not as good then the recommended ones. So if their site recommends the component in my rig its like a employee recommending something that does not work together i get my money back. And thirdly no one likes it when someone mentions consumer inspection in my country inspectors are bitches and the fines fucking out of this world i should know got finned a few times but by different typs of inspectors. Fortly i can just send the comp back before 8 days even if nothing is wrong with it just because i had a change of mood no explanation necessary. In my country the costumer who knows his rights or just likes to bitch is always right, the only problem is that most dont know their rights or dont like to bitch. I once returned a perfectly good TV 15 days after i bought it just because a noter one was in the same price range but tones better, I said no one told me that it do sent receive digital channels (if i took the time and upgraded the tvs software it would run slovenian digital channels, glad the employee dint read the manual ) even though i knew it dosent and i have a box that translates the digital channels to normal channels that any tv can run, and the employee told me that it dosent. I thought you were buying the parts independently and building from scratch. Forgive my misunderstanding."Why don't you call upon your God to strike me?
