As AdminModulus has pointed out, the Quick Questions, Short Answers thread has been taken over by people commenting on PNTs. I think this might be a useful thing to be able to do, but it should have its own thread.

Fair enough. However, I thought that there was already a thread for that purpose.

I always understood that thread to be for substantive discussions of the merits and demerits of various PNTs. This thread seems instead more geared to the lighter side of PNTs.

Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. -- Thomas Jefferson
We see monsters where science shows us windmills. -- Phat
It has always struck me as odd that fundies devote so much time and effort into trying to find a naturalistic explanation for their mythical flood, while looking for magical explanations for things that actually happened. -- Dr. Adequate
Howling about evidence is a conversation stopper, and it never stops to think if the claim could possibly be true -- foreveryoung

IQ kid is probably a nice kid
but it seems he was indoctrinated in one of the Christian Madrasas since he mentions nonsense like the Genesis flood(s); stuff that no educated honest individual could ever consider more than myths.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

yes IQ165+ is probably a nice kid ... but
What I like is the cognitive dissonance embedded in the lines
destroying evolution Message 1:
-- Because if fossils happened the way that they have devised
--- Then there would be a huge layer depth change
---- In the spot where the fossil was
----- To represent the local flood
------ But there is no depth change in the area
------- And they will just ignore this discrepancy
The evolutionary (actually geology and paleontology) explanation is incorrect ... because it ignores the evidence of the flood ... that is not there?
but it seems he was indoctrinated in one of the Christian Madrasas ...
I am reminded of the problem with computers -- gigo.
Enjoy.

so IQ165+ is back ... will he learn anything?
but does he understand what he needs to do?
devestation of this evolution fairy tale -- looks like a lame rehash of the first post, more gigo.
I believe that God has given me great wisdom,
along with the willingness and ability to be taught all things,
It will be interesting to test this willingness.
Is he willing to learn about Age Correlations and An Old Earth, Version 2 No 1
Enjoy.

Re: so IQ165+ is back ... will he learn anything?
Learn anything? No, he won't. This is my prediction: if he ever manages to get his thread into such a form that it can be promoted, then the sane will point out to him the ways in which his post is variously stupid, ignorant, and meaningless. At this point, he will say to himself: "The evil Evil-utionists would be disagreeing with me unless I was on to something, because they would never bother themselves to disagree with something that was wrong. Clearly my post has frightened them, proving that everything I say is true, cogent, and lucid."
I disclaim any ability to read minds, I'm just guessing, but it seems to me that to preserve his delusions of competency he must have some fairly powerful defense mechanism in operation, and this is one of the most typical.

Re: so IQ165+ is back ... will he learn anything?
Hi Dr Adequate
Learn anything? No, he won't. This is my prediction: ...
Indeed, it is mine as well. So far I have the feeling that he won't even participate much, thinking that his epistle says it all, and anyone that replies just doesn't understand how clever he is.
... I believe that He has given me the ability to explain ...
It seems that he thinks he is a teacher.
I bet he won't touch Age Correlations and An Old Earth, Version 2 No 1 with a willingness to learn.
Enjoy.

Re: so IQ165+ is back ... will he learn anything?
Dr A writes:
...it seems to me that to preserve his delusions of competency he must have some fairly powerful defense mechanism in operation...
Well, I am pretty certain that this is him:
quote:
I would also like to think, that I can be somewhat intelligent, even after the severe closed head injury of my automobile accident, where my heart stopped twice, and they thought me brain dead. I guess the important part is,,, that God was merciful with me, and let me survive !!!
http://pre-trib-force.blogspot.co.uk/2008/02/evolution.html
So maybe his defence mechanism is irreparable.

Tradition and heritage are all dead people's baggage. Stop carrying it!

A retraction
In the general PNT discussion thread, I said something that might be construed as support for the intelligence level of new poster IQ165+. I wish to formally retract anything I might have said there or anywhere else in a similar vein.
I now see, following his incomprehensible amendment to his topic, that the unique structure of his initial statement was not due to any creative impulse, but a complete lack of understanding of the simplest rules of grammar and syntax. If he is not currently institutionalized, that can only be due to unawareness of his level of functioning among the proper people. If he is currently institutionalized, he needs his meds adjusted and a good attorney for a malpractice claim against wherever he is being held. And he needs his computer access revoked.
I offer no explanation for my earlier inability to see that he has nothing to offer in any intelligent conversation and throw myself on the mercy of the general populace here. Please don't be too hard on me. I can't for the life of me imagine what I was thinking.

Has somebody been scrawling the URL to EvC in bathroom stalls in psychiatric treatment centers again?

Re: Technical User
It's almost reminiscent of the highly intellectual posts that we were graced with from Dennis Markuze. Though in seriously toned down format.
