Heh heh, dissension in the ranks... from a female client earlier in the week:
client to cavediver writes:
If you are into football I hope you enjoy the game and England win (by the way I’m Scottish, but not a very good one as I want England to win)
The no-true-scotswoman fallacy?

Re: England or Paraquay
1:0 to Eengland
what lucky bastards we are...
Sheesh, if thats the level of play we can expect from england then we are not gonna win this tournement.
We had it sown up in the first half from that deflected Beckham Free kick onwards we ruled the roost. In the second half all was fine till the 60th minuet when either they got a second wind or we (more likely) let out guard down. From that point on we were lucky they didn’t equalise . .
So yay for the three points but on that performance we aint gonna win. (loose to Brazil in semis . .)

Re: England or Paraquay
it's a good job Paraguay lacked that killer instinct otherwise you'd have lost.
Got to step up or teams like Germany and Brazil will have you for breakfast.

T&T vs. Sweden
Wow. I didn't see the entire game, but what I did see was amazing. Trinidad and Tobago held their own, regardless of being one man short for an entire half against a powerful European club. Also, their goalie, forgot his name, made some saves that were nothing short of spectacular. On top of that, he was not projected to start the game, but was originally a back-up.
AbE: I found out their starting goalie suffered a head-injury before the kick-off, and their back-up goalie's name is Hislop. Moreover, I believe this tie is the first ever world cup point for T&T. Congrats.

Sven is nuts!
Anybody got any thoughts on those mysterious substitutions?
I mean, Peter Crouch as a lone striker??? And then he substitutes Cole (the only man playing anywhere near him on the pitch) and brings on his favourite floppy haired utility player to sit in front of the defence. Yeesh!
Yet another indication of his squad selection madness: why was Theo Walcott even taken if Sven's not going to play him? Darren Bent or Defoe could have played on their own up front, waiting to run onto balls over the top, Walcott should be able to fill that role too. He seemed reluctant to bring him on - does he not think he's good enough now he's picked him?
*shakes head and walks away muttering*

Re: England
I am actually supporting T&T, but not because of the Jason Scotland crap.
My team (Falkirk) have two players in the T&T squad, so most Falkirk fans are supporting T&T!
How shit are England?
I had 150 on England at 4/7, so had a wee drink on them.
Good day all round, won a few quid and on that showing England won't be winning anything.
Brian.

Re: England
I'm beginning to feel like a global nomad. With Scotland again not in the world cup I'm supporting any team that England plays and winding my English hubby up something chronic! My neighbourhood is sporting a veritable rainbow of flags, many of which I don't even recognise, there's a pizza shop selling pizzas which look like the T&T flag and our spirits were certainly lifted when no more goals were forthcoming after the first one.
Can I point out that we're not anti-English as such, we just can't face another forty years of crowing. We never hear the end of 1966! Yeah, it was good, yeah, they did well, but for pity's sake can't they give it a rest?

We'll be gunning for the Brits. But it doesn't matter whether they win or not, you WILL hear another 40 years of crowing. At least.

Socceroos...
How about them Aussies ?
Way to crush another team wait till 10 mins from the end and drill 3 into the net LOL
In truth they owned the pssession and were unlucky in conceeding that first goal. But way to go!
Given them selvies a real chance to make the next round and Three points . If nothing else they can come home heads held high....
