Gerald Ford dead at 93
Gerald Ford, 38th President, Dies at 93 - The New York Times
IMHO, one of the greatest presidents of the 20th century. He led the country through a very difficult time and made some very hard choices that he had to know would likely end his political career. He acted based on what he thought was best for the country and not necessarily best for him. A true statesman.

Dan Fogelberg dead at 56
One of the truly great singer/songwriters from the 70s and 80s.
My wife and I used his song Longer at our wedding.

The co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, which in my humble opinion, is the father of today's mmporg.

Re: Gary Gygax dead at 69
A couple of different sites that wrote up his death used as an element of the headline that he failed his final saving throw. I didn't know him at all, but he kinda sounds like the kind of guy that would appreciate the humor.

One of the best ever.
One of my favorites of his routines is his comparison of baseball and football. It can be found here.

James P. Hogan, writer, dead at age 69
Author James P. Hogan died suddenly July 12. He was 69.
He was the first science fiction writer that I took an interest in, and his work was brilliant. At his best, his description of how science and scientists work was as good as anyone's, and his ability to blend that into an absorbing novel was truly remarkable.
I shall miss him.
(I am aware that he held some eccentric and wrong headed views personally, but prefer not to dwell on those. Please leave any comment on them for another place. Thank you.)

It has always struck me as odd that fundies devote so much time and effort into trying to find a naturalistic explanation for their mythical flood, while looking for magical explanations for things that actually happened. -- Dr. Adequate

R.I.P. Kodachrome
Kodak stopped producing the film last year, and now the last place to get it processed has run out of chemicals. Story here.
My only question, does this mean I have to stop masturbating?
