In general, the U.S. has done considerable economic and military "misadventure" in and to other countries and peoples. Thus, is it any surprise that someone might want to take a shot at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon? I don't think so.

It seems to me that Al Quaeda are happy to attack targets anywhere in the west. It would appear to me to be more about ideology than anything else.
