Wanted: An intelligent liberal blogger who can try to challenge my ideas. Any applicant must be capable of thought beyond "Bush lied, Bush lied, Halliburton, Halliburton;" must write well and be familiar with effective debating techniques and procedures.
Job duties will include sharing a blog page with a conservative and posting controversial articles and rebuttals.
Any qualified applicants should enter a sample of their writing or link to a current blog in the comments section.
Where I Stand
Francis is a friend of mine from 1st Veterans Battalion (online gaming community)that is looking for a debate with a liberal. I thought there were a few of you here that fit the description (intelligent liberal) and I was wondering if anyone would take him up on his offer.
He is a 20 year Veteran of Special Forces with 2 tours in Afghanistan, and articulates issues much better than I do. If noone takes it up I'll see if I can get him to come here and post on certain issues. If someone does take him up on his offer, we can post the messages here.
Anyone interested?

Define a "liberal"
Is a liberal anyone who isn't a neo-conservative?

If your ideas are different from his, post them and articulate why you think that way.

I'd be curious, but technically I'm both liberal and conservative since I'm independent, and I don't have a blog. Is it important to have a blog?
AbE: And now having had more of a look at the site, I am unsure what it is that he is interested in debating. The site seems relatively factual, that is to say what he is experiencing, rather than larger events and concepts. This is not a criticism of the site or blog, just saying I am not clear what is to be covered as a "liberal" in contrast to a "conservative".

hmmm....
Perhaps if I this person seemed capable of the thought he asks of others. The fact that he does not appear to accept that President Bush is a liar certainly does not speak well of his opinions.
No thanks. It's not worth it.

The sad thing is..
it's funny that he "wanted to be the next eisenhower" and yet he doesn't question bush's foreign policy....
Spot on!!
You know the sad thing is, and all the Americans should take note, morons such as this who have a website sound quite clever to people like Tal who basically are happy to uncritically accept anything that sounds remotely plausible to them.
These people, such as Tal and G W Bush, are giving the rest of the world the *impression* that the average American is a raving lunatic.
America is a great country, get a grip of these clowns who are making you a laughing stock.
It used to be in the UK that when you made a joke that contained a reference to an Irish person you immediately knew it was about a thick person (I believe that the Americans use the Polish in the same manner), but it is fast becoming " there was a scotsman and englishman and an American...." And the American is obviously a dolt.
Sort it out!
Brian.

50% of the voters re-elected Bush last year. There are a lot of raving lunatics here.
Hmm, wasn't your guy re-elected too? Maybe you have a few loonies on your side of the pond.

Re: The sad thing is..
Our guy is articulate and rational, Bush always looks as if he's constipated.
And yes, there are a lot of raving lunatics in the USA, it is a shame, but it is a fact, the first time Bush got in no one even knows for sure if he won or not!!

Your guy knew better than to go to war. Yet he did so, and gave Bush the political cover he needed to make it possible.
Bush could claim he is not guilty by reason of insanity. What's the excuse for your guy?
