it refuses to be open-minded.
This is a common thread among you religious nutters, isn't it? Your idea of compromise or open mindendness is for everyone to see things YOUR way. I dealt with this personally, so I know first hand the ill-effects it has on personal relationships with people who do not share exactly the same beliefs.
You should seek counseling. Maybe take a break from the internet and check out a library, or into a mental hospital.

Not a sunrise, but a galaxy rise
A morning filled with 400 billion suns
The rising of the milky way"

Would you care to define secular for the rest of us, as it seems you have a far different idea of what the word means than the rest of the world?

In light of the mention of U.K. Faith Schools
Richard Dawkins did a great show on it:

An experiment for Buz
Let's try this Buz.
Put an egg in a cup of vinegar. Leave it in there for 24 hours. What happens? It is really rather neat.
Did you try and guess what would happen? Were you surprised that you were wrong (if you were)? Guess what: you just did "secular science".
Science is fun Buz. You should try it sometime. Here, check this out: experiments you can try at home. Science isn't some evil monster that you need to fight tooth and nail and be afraid of. Rather, it is simply a process. I'm sure you use the scientific method every day without knowing it.
Now, let's check some "ID science" What sort of experiment could you have me perform that is in accordance with "ID science"?

Re: An experiment for Buz
I would actually like to see a response from DB or Buz, since they are both touting a separate form of science. It would make for a good thread, I think. I mean, if there is such a thing as "ID/Creation science", there should be some experiments we could perform, right? There are millions upon millions of "secular science" experiments that ANYONE can perform with household items, so there should be at least a few "ID/Creation science" experiments we could do.
This is such a silly argument. Science is not an "it" it's not a "thing": it is a way to figure shit out. I'm beginning to wonder if these individuals even know what secular means........
{ABE}
I didn't mean that to sound as though I didn't appreciate your response, Huntard (the first line sounds a bit rude now that I read it in thread). Sorry mate.

Re: An experiment for Buz
HOW MANY TEST do I need to do to know my computer is operating and functioning correctly. Should I keep repeating the test to see if its operating and operating correctly, while its operating
As a gamer and an avid overclocker, I will tell you that there are NUMEROUS tests you should perform. That is an argument from technological ignorance.
Here is one. Observe an organism, a micro-organism, watch its independent functions of coherently, logical and orderly operation and consistent behavior.
Then draw a conclusion after you observe tens of thousands of other organisms, see if they operate in the same orderly, logical fashion, independently and in conjuntion with other organisims
Do thier parts operate in an orderly fashion to make the organism function properly and accurate fashion to achieve its purpose
This is the best experiment you've got? "Does life work"? You all are positing a total revamp off the scientific method. How is your method going to replace the work already done? All you are saying is "well, it looks designed, so it must be designed because I don't know how else it would work." I bet you think the sun must have been designed too, huh?
How many test do I need to do to see that design is designing
Well, since I see no life being designed ex-nihilo by your creator (nor has ANYONE....EVER), this argument fails.

ICR concedes defeat over its graduate school
The Institute for Creation Research is apparently conceding defeat in its lawsuit over the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's 2008 decision to deny the ICR's request for a state certificate of authority to offer a master's degree in science education from its graduate school.

Re: An experiment for Buz
Perhaps you could use spell check so I can understand what the fuck you are saying? Not only is it reprehensible to mis-spell a word that you quote, but even more-so to forgo all usage of punctuation AND fail to formulate a sentence properly. I said overclocker, not overlooker.
that is not what I said, go back and re-read it then come to me with an argument against it.
I know full well what it is that you said.

Re: An experiment for Buz
Lets see your argument
I created a topic that none of the resident creationists have shown an interest in: "Creation Science" experiments. I used your example as the first contestant: Message 7. Now, care to join me there as the current banter we have has absolutely shit to do with ICR and their abysmal attempt to sue the State of Texas?
Ok, what is that
Don't actually try anything yourself, you might strain your brain muscle.

Re: An experiment for Buz
How about you take it to the thread I mentioned? Or are you afraid of the science section because you will actually need to provide evidence? Put up or shut up and stop talking about your computer because you've been outclassed in that department.

Re: There is no Theory of Creation
My direct evidence of order serves as evidence that there is a designer.
What order? Would you care to respond to the thread I directed you to where this crap is ON-TOPIC? "Creation Science" experiments.

Re: There is no Theory of Creation
Apparently, you are fucking dense and do not understand that I am directing you to a different topic where this discussion is ON-TOPIC. I will remind you, the thread I am directing you to is in the science section, so you need to provide evidence for your claims.

Re: For anybody who doesn't see the relevance
We observe that complex crystals do form all by themselves without the input of a designer. If you want to claim that a designer is involved then you need to evidence one.
Would it be safe to take this one step further and say that we can see complex LIFE formed all by itself through natural reproduction, no designer involved? Or would that be going a few steps too far? What about stars from gases, no designer involved?
