Re: nom number the first
Thank you, brennakimi. I'd nominate your Gilgamesh jest, but Dread AdminNWR probably doesn't like tit-for-tat (or vice versa) either.
I think we are all the butts of his humor. He stands robed and grim in the shadows, laughing: Ha. Ha. Ha.

Just because as we dig a little deeper, our notions change does not mean the discoveries are not useful.--randman

Humor me
We need a humor forum; humor is a far larger slice of life than is allowed here, and that requires correction. Brennakimi's idea is a step in the right direction, but a regular humor forum would be best: I suspect it would conduce to more sober discussion elsewhere. Humor and Science, Humor and Religion, Humor POTM, etc.
Omnivorous would win most OF these POTM'S.
I'm not so sure, robin, though it is true that my inner spaces are regularly swept by gales of hilarity: the world is just so damn funny!. If there is a God, She laughs a lot.
I'd be nominating you (and Parasomnium, who so often wonderfully melds levity and gravitas) left and right: I laugh aloud at posts from both of you on a regular basis, sometimes wondering if anyone else realizes just how funny you have been. I suspect randman has a keen sense of humor, if he would drop his crusade-consciousness long enough to display it.
You have a dry wit much to my humor-consumer taste; my own production runs along the borderlines of "Omnivorous is mad againe!"
When I was being transfered from the ER to the burn ward many years ago, I gazed from the gurney at my appalled family, and quipped, "I suppose you're wondering why I called you all here?"
Later that night, when I woke in considerable pain, I rang for a night nurse to get more morphine. She arrived to tell me, "I'm sorry, sir, but you're oversedated now." In my best Jack Nicholson imitation (which was pretty good in those days), I seized her white uniform in a bunch at the throat with a badly burned hand, pulled her close, and snarled, "Do I look oversedated to you, lady?"
Then I giggled and let her go. She stared for a moment at the greasy streaks on her starched bosom and rushed from the room.
I got the IV morphine without further ado; I have always believed it was the giggle that did it.
Shhhh... We are on probation, sufferance, and parole here: for now, solemn should our humors be, lest someone stifle this doormouse!

Peek
Robin, for me the Peek button only works after I have clicked the Reply button.
When I want to use the url formatting from a post (say, to quote within quote, or to include smilies), I click as though I want to reply to the post I wish to quote, highlight and copy what I want, then back out and go to where I wish to paste it.
Hope that helps.

Re: Peek
Thanks, RAZD. I'm using Opera, which enables Tabs if the option is checked. I've checked it, and the Peek button works fine.

I wasn't sure if anyone realized I mean pink's subtitle, not arach's...apparently you did

Adminnemoose seems to have it out for minnemoose. I'm just waiting for the moment when minnemoose can't take it any more, and fires back with an obscenity-laced tirade, ultimately leading to Adminnemoose permanently banning him/her.
Wouldn't that be multiple personality disorder or disassociation disorder or whatever the nom du jour is? Could be a whiff of Tourette's there, too, I suppose, if we get a storm of curses.
Schizophrenics generally can't keep one personality together, let alone two.
Yes they can.
No they can't.
WOULD YOU GUYS SHUT UP AND LET HIM TALK?
