The recent upgrade to dBoard 2.0 has caused a small number of members to have difficulty logging in. For those that haven't email'd me, here's the solution: use your browser to delete all cookies. Some browsers, like FireFox, allow you to delete cookies for individual websites, in which case you can just delete the cookies associated with EvC Forum. You should then be able to log in.
I'm temporarily modifying the permissions of this forum so that anyone can reply to this thread, whether logged in or not. I'll leave it this way for a couple days so that anyone still having difficulty can post here.

My home IP has been entirely blocked since the change. I'm sure I've tried deleting my cookies already, but I'll try again...

alias problems
you should also mention the uppercase/lowercase alias problem, that i had (and probably a few others). apparently, if you had an alias that was the same as another alias except for capitalization, it just blanked the user name.
(i doubt deleting cookies would have fixed that. that's server-side)

My home IP has been entirely blocked since the change.
Can you at least get the front page http:/// (which does not require login).
I'm trying to see if you have a login problem, or a tcp connectivity problem.

No I can't even get to the front page, so I guess that would make it a TCP issue...
Edited by RickJB, : No reason given.

Try:

tracert

and post the output.
Maybe posting only the last 4 lines of output would suffice.

Chat log-in problems
I'm not sure if this is the proper place to ask this, but is there an issue with the chat not allowing users in? I try to log-in but it keeps popping up at a log-in and password screen.

Re: Chat log-in problems
Deleted my cookies but still have same problem.
Below where it asks for my username and password in the chat log-in screen it says this:
quote:
Please enter a username.
Connecting To Server...
Error Connecting. Please try again.

Re: Chat log-in problems
you should never see a screen asking for that.

If it asks for username and password, something has gone wrong. In that case, use the browser "refresh" button to reload the chat applet.

Re: Chat log-in problems
This problem has been off and on again since 'chat' was instituted. I had been getting through to the chat screen most of the time with only occasional 'log-in' screens as I detailed above, though recently I have been unable to get access to the chat at all with the same 'log-in' screen appearing right after the java aplet icon appears. It looks like it is about to load then boots me to the log-in screen.
Its appearance is something like:
(large banner on the left: EvC Forum) on the right: Box with Username: DBlevins then underneath the username,
Password: chatrOom (

Re: Chat log-in problems
sounds like a timing problem. How are you connecting? Dial up, wireless?
