Re: dBcode "bgcolor" is broken
That might explain it - I'm at work on an olde IE (5.5) install. It looks to be a CSS issue.

Re: dBcode "bgcolor" is broken
It looks to be a problem with the way firefox handles span tags. Firefox might be doing it the right way, and ie is being too generous - but I don't know which way round it is.
The only solutions I can find are:
  1. replace span tag with a div - will result in an initial line break and the the entire page being filled with
    paragraph-1
    paragraph2
    crap
  2. repeat span tags every time a p tag exists until /bgcolor - redundant
    paragraph-1

    paragraph2
  3. perhaps it is possible to dynamically create two new lines with scripting? - overblown solution for a small matter
Obviously I can't access server scripting to provide an example.
  4. Insert a open and close h1 tag to force the new paragraph
    paragraph-1

    paragraph2
I'm sure there must be a better solution though.

Re: Hey, AdminModulous!
cheers, I wasn't. It was an impressively constructed on topic response looking at the issue in depth.
Maybe not, but I posted quite a long post there that discussed issue in a way sympathetic to the OP, with some interesting suggestions. I just spend thirty minutes hacking at firefox trying to find any remnants of it. No such luck, I found some old topic headings, but not the main subjects.
The world will have to lament that a great and powerful post of Mods is lost forever. Actually I reckon about as many posts don't get posted of mine as do - but that's a voluntary thing - this one is a naughty software hiccup. It's happened a few times recently and I think it is because jar is no longer propping his end of the bar up.

1. type this in the browser address bar “about:config”
2. look for “layout.spellcheckDefault”
3. change the value to “2”
4. restart firefox
By default I think it only spell checks textareas not input type = text
abe: How rude of me. I copy pasted those instructions from Josh Highland's blog

Re: Spellcheck
Menu: Tools/Options - Advanced Tab is a bit more direct maybe?
On my version I only see an option there to turn on spellchecking, I don't see an option for configuring the types of field to spell check. Is it different on your version?
