I should have known. You don't have a point. Not surprising.

Re: Citing Sources
Look asshole, I gave you a chance. I said where I got the aircraft carrier info from and there is no "source" by name except it was from a government agency....now if you want to go all anal retentive on me over it, get ready. I ain't going to put up with your bullshit. If you really want to me to, I can go back through your post history and find out how many times you submitted material that you didn't really write.

Re: Citing Sources
How is it a weak point? If it's a government document it usually cites a department...not a sole source...what can anybody do about that? I already said it should be referenced back to a government source..and thats not even necessary...Lets use an example; "A space Shuttle Main Engine High Pressure Fuel Turbopump weighs approximately 500 lbs."
bold added by me
If it is a government doc I expect to see the name of the doc or dept that put it out, especially if the bolded part of the above quote is an exact quote from that doc. If you are paraphrasing the info, attribution would still be nice.
Lets play nice. "I'M" the one asking for citation. Name calling will get you no where.

Re: Citing Sources
You didn't expect me to start combing your posts? It's not my problem...you have to go find out what you were talking about now and quote sources. You've been put on the defensive. You just admitted the quote was from you, cite all your sources.

Re: Citing Sources
Rocket is splitting hairs for no good reason.
Full formal citations are not required here; we aren't writing formal technical papers.
If you are repeating information in your own words, such as dimensions of a warship or distances to a galaxy or whatever, then references are not mandatory, but can reasonably be requested if someone asks to see claims defended. If someone is working from memory or their own background knowledge, and can't find a reference at short notice, then no problem. Just say so.
If someone takes a copy of the exact text explaining some information, then it must be clearly distinguished from your own original text, and some kind of attribution given.
Full formal citation is not required, but at the least it must be clear what text is yours, and what text is not. Failing to make this clear is plagiarism, and it makes no difference whether or not the text is in the public domain, or from the government, or anything else. It is part of the forum guidelines that plagiarism is not permitted.
redwolf is an interesting case. He has been repeating stuff from websites; but I am pretty damn sure he is the author of the website anyway. He should say so. I've cited my own writing before this; it is good practice to be clear if you are repeating stuff you already have available at other locations.

Well, lets do it this way, is Berbury the admin or are you? I explained it already...why is Burbery involved? it seems to me that the admonishment goes to burbery for butting in where it had no business.

Re: Citing Sources
We have always asked that the members do some policing of the forum also. Berberry's first posts to you on this topic were not out of line. Post 77 from you is the first punch thrown as far as I'm concerned.
Razd and Sylas seem to agree with the Forum Guidelines as does Berberry. How 'bout you?

O'Kayzers...I've not exactly seen that the Admins stick to their own rules here, so naturally I'd be confused.

Topic Branching
Can you take this from post #66 to end and move it to a new thread?
(This is the kind of thing I mean about side topics and the new process ...)
Then perhaps we can get back to the topic on this thread?
Thanks

Re: Who create early human beings?
for redwolf
There is a geological scale clearly establishes with many methods for investigation.
I am petroleum engineer. I produce oil from many fields. I choose now one of them for example:
- I found oil in: Triassic at 2200 meters, which is around 7260-ft depth
Jurassic at 1900 meters, that is around 6270-ft depth
Cretaceous at 1600 meters, that is around 5280-ft depth
Oligocene at 1200 meters, that is around 3960-ft depth
Miocene at 900 meters, that is around 2970-ft depth
Now I want to ask why we found old ancient things from Greeks or Romans buried in the ground?
Because of the cosmic dust and because of that the earth diameter increases in time.
How many meters we must dig for an ancient object (2000 - 3000 years old)? No more than few meters.
When I dig 2000 meters and I take sample from rocks that I found there, and in those rooks I can find petrified shells from prehistoric snails.
How long will take for cosmic dust to increase earth diameter with 7000 ft if that need few ft for 2000 years.
This scale u provide:
-600 onwards Iron Age
-900 onwards Bronze Age
-1400 beginning of modern man (Homo sapiens)
-1500 beginning of Neanderthal man
between -2000 and -1600 beginning of Erectus.
Are u serious, Do u thinks Erectus begin to live 2000 years ago and modern humans 1400 years ago?
So the apostles wasn’t modern humans and Moise live before the erectus, maybe he was an Australopithecine
I want to be perfectly clear now. I believe in GOD but not in what the people trying to defend like 6000 y.o. earth.
Few hundred years ago a man died in flames because he sustained that the earth is round.
People can search in Bible a set of moral rules and not a history book.
In your second answer u said:
Again, despite looking much like us, neanderthals were vastly different genetically.
Their DNA has been described as "about halfway between ours and that of a chimpanzee",
cleanly eliminating them as a plausible ancestor for modern man
But as I already told and u agreed:
Evidence discover by archeologists show that Neanderthal man can handle fire, create and use tools, create clothes, create colored paintings on the walls of caves, buried their dead.
So in Bible I never read that GOD create another intelligent species, other than humans.
Adam understands that he is naked after he bit that apple from forbidden tree.
So the Neanderthal made clothes and dresses them.
Why? Because they never bite from that apple.
They buried their dead so they believe in an after life. Why? Who is their GOD?
Why our GOD let them disappear.
Maybe they were a preview creation and they wasn’t perfect.
If yes, means GOD didn’t create only perfect things.
Are we perfect? We are his creation.
The Eve wasn’t perfect because she cheat Adam. Adam wasn’t smart enough to reject that apple, so he wasn’t perfect too.
So maybe we are the next step.
Maybe we must disappear like Neanderthals and GOD will create the next intelligent creature most perfect than Neanderthal and Humans.
What do u thinks?
Sorry if my english isn’t so good but I’m from Romania.

I've been accused of everything in the world on creation/evolution debates but not plagiarizing myself before. That's new. Bearfabrique is my own site.

Note well. What Heinsohn is saying is not exactly the same thing as saying that Neanderthals were kicking around 3500 years ago. What he is saying is that the best evidence we have, when closely examined, does not in any way support any sort of an older date than that.
Heinsohn and Emmet Sweeney basically put the old kingdom of Egypt around 800 BC, and the flood itself around 1500 BC instead of the usual 3000 - 4500 BC.
Immanuel Velikovsky first noticed the problem with conventional chronology and thought he could fix is ("Ages in Chaos") by moving Egyption chronology forward about four hundred years or thereabouts starting from the time of Queen Hatshepsut and her immediate predacessors. More recent studies, particularly Heinsohns, indicate that a much greater adjustment is required.
Sweeney's Genesis of Israel and Egypt makes a compelling case for equating the biblical Joseph with King Djozer's famous vizier Imhotep despite the 1800 years which supposedly separates the two and, in fact, later day Velikovskians are not the only people who have noticed that the life stories of Joseph and Imhotep are identical as a quick google search on 'Joseph' and 'Imhotep' will demonstrate.

I believe that was said.
The issue was if you were NOT Ted Holden, and that is exactly what was stated.
Thanks for letting us know.
