Re: Guilty pleasures....
Chocolate ice cream (without sprinkles, hate them)
Why add sprinkles when the chocolate ice cream works so well without them.
Being alone.
Yea, I can really feel that. I spend so much time alone that I can't be around people for too long before I'm ready go back to being a recluse.
I'm guilty of attending several Trekkie conventions and actually dressing for them.
OMG!!! That's awesome.
Just for you, Spock at a Starwars convention:

Re: Bioware is the shit
Thanks for reminding me! Going to get this first thing tomorrow! Can't wait!

I hunt for the truth
I am the one Orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand
My image is of agony, my servants rape the land
Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain
Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name
Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law
My name is called religion, sadistic, sacred whore.
-Lyrics by Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead

I've been trying to think of things that I don't want any one to know about, and I can't think of anything.
There are plenty of things people would make fun of me about, like being obsessed with online chess (I am truly an addict), but I don't care what anyone thinks about it. I fully disclose it.
I listen to a lot of metal and hardcore which is taboo by much of societies standards.
Oh, wait, I got something after sitting here intently for 20 minutes staring at the screen in deep thought. I like a lot of Don Henley's music. Wow, that's downright embarassing and shameful. Okay, yeah, that I really wouldn't want too many people to know about.
It would destroy my street cred.

"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." --John Adams

I forgot one.
I listen to Dethklok. The fictional death metal band of Metalocalypse fame on Cartoon Network.
Because I like the music.
Clearly I have just eliminated any and all credibility on any subject pertaining to the arts. Oh well.
I also listen to metal from other, less fictional groups. I don't have a particular favorite, per se - my tastes in music are eclectic. I often find I like one or two songs from a group, and nothing else of their collected works. But my MP3 player contains some amount of In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Iron Maiden, Dark Tranquility, and others.

Comic Books
Hi Rox, nice thread!
For me, it has to be the comic books. I've read them off and on since I was a kid. Despite the fact that there are so many intellectually fulfilling mature readers comics out there (Neil Gaiman's The Sandman or Art Spiegelman's Maus for example), I've never been quite able to shake off my love of super-heroes.
Right now I'm loving DC's Blackest Night crossover; what could be better than lame-o superdudes hitting each other? ZOMBIE lame-o superdudes hitting each other! Pure class.
There have been some very embarrassing admissions on the musical front (Dido?! For shame Onifre!), so here's mine. A classic slice of Eighties cheese.
At least no-one has admitted to liking James Blunt.

Mitch Benn on James Blunt
Any Blunt haters out there might find this therapeutic.
Mitch Benn, incidentally, is well worth seeing live. The songs are tight and he has a great rapport with the audience.

Re: Guilty pleasures....
We stumbled onto what seemed to be a small scifi type convention in Ohio a few years back. We didn't know what was going on until I came face to face with Marc Singer (Beastmaster) in the parking lot. Then I noticed Felix Silla (Twiki) and Robert Z'Dar (Maniac Cop) in the lobby of our hotel. It was a unique surprise. My husband had no idea who they were.
Needless to say I do like SciFi, although I'm not hardcore. Star Trek (love the new movie), Babylon 5, Firefly, Stargate, Dr. Who...
Right now I enjoy Castle (Nathan Fillion of course). In the Halloween episode he put on his Firefly outfit.
I enjoy my Wii, Disney, Wipeout, and I avoid organized exercise as much as humanly possible. (Although I have come to the conclusion that I need to adjust that paradigm.)
I did a research study in hopes of getting into the habit. Apparently I'm not very good at picking up good habits. I figure I don't drink, smoke, or fool around and I cut out sweets; I should have at least one vice (if you can call it that).
I spend way too much time on my computer and I have a soft spot for felines. Just brought a new one into the fold. We're trying to find it a home, but odds are it will stay.
I don't quite fit in with the other executives' wives.

That song was hilarious! I enjoyed his Stairway parody. The dude has talent.

I'll have to keep an eye out for him.

Re: Comic Books
Hi RAZD,
That's pretty cool. I'm not sure I like the anime look of the characters, but the draughtsmanship on the backgrounds is very impressive, especially for a free comic.
On a related note, I have you to thank for turning me onto the excellent and much missed Cectic comic strips. Great stuff.

Well I guess some of you here know I play D&D.
If that was not bad enough I also play 40k.
If that was not bad enough I even bought the latest fighting fantasy novel (it helped that it has a character called Larni in it!).

Re: 80's Flash back
I love music from the 80's, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Softcell, Berlin...anything New Wave with lots of synthesizers and drum machines.
I'm not seeing Depche Mode there, dudette!
Even called my kitten Fletch...

Re: The Cure, anyone?
My sister did. She loved the dark eye shadow and the freaky 'Spiderman' video.
Good song, scary video.
She wanted to be a grave digger, too.
Crazy bitch.
