Forum participants, please name up to THREE of your favorite woman comedians.
I don't have any favorite woman comedians...
I though Margaret Cho was funny. What I've seen of Ellen Degeneres's stand-up was funny.
Huh... they're both gay.
Please name up to FIVE of your favorite FUNNY movies.
I love Ace Ventura Pet Detective (Liar Liar, and Me Myself and Irene were great too)
All the Austin Powers movies had me rolling.
Will Ferrels movies make me laugh a lot too, Ancorman, Talidega Nights...
Kevin Smith's are great... Dogma, Clerks (good dialog)
Adam Sandler's too... Happy Gilmore etc.
Superbad (Knocked Up and the likes too)
Napoleon Dynamite made me laugh a lot.
Remember I'm Gonna Get You Sucka?... the Wayans brothers
Half Baked was hilarious.
I don't know how to pick just 5 from those
I think the stupider the better, for me.
I like the movies that have the lines that you can repeat/use in your day-to-day life.
But if I'm going for laughs, I'd much rather watch Stand-Up than a movie.

I think that they tend to laugh along with men they find physically attractive, even if they're not genuinely funny. (i.e. a good looking guy can say the worst or most crass joke and get a laugh).
I want to make it absolutely clear I'm not spiteful or jealous or anything.
Judging from your avatar....

Check out the Hitchens' video. That's exactly what he points out. Either gay, jewish or they act like men.
I just watched that... Interesting.
Btw, Cho is a cunt.
I just saw her stand-up and we were laughing. I don't know anything about her, but I'll take your word for it. I was really digging deep to think of a female comic...
I totally forgot about Sarah Silverman... She's great.. and hot.
Niceee list.
I saw you put Pet Detective on there... god what a hilarious movie...
I got this buddy who everytime someone goes: how's it going? he replies:
"SUPER! and thanks for asking. I hope you're having a lovely day."
or there's:
"Do NOT go in there... Woo!"
The only one's I don't like too much were Liar, Liar and Me, Myself and Irene. Carey was great in them but I don't think the films themselves were good.
Ya know, the movies weren't that great... but Carey was! I'm with ya on that one.
I like the movies that have the lines that you can repeat/use in your day-to-day life.
This is my deal, too. If I can quote it, I love it.
Yup. When someone set you up just perfectly and then you get to fire off the quote and it fits right in and everyone laughs their ass off... that's so much fun.
I left out of my list, only because it was just 5, but I thought The Hangover was fucking hilarious. Zack steals that movie, and his stand up is brilliant, too.
I too like the Hangover and thought Zack stole it. I haven't looked into his stand-up but I will.
"Its a satchel... Indiana Jones wore one" Or when he's talking about his wolf pack I don't remember the lines...

Pleaseeeee tell me you've seen Zacks webisodes, Between Two Ferns? If not, my 2 fav's, althought there are about 6 of them:
Nah, I hadn't see those. I just watched them...
A little too dry for me, but not bad. The second one was funnier.
I spend most of my online time while at work so I don't frequent video sites but stick with text and images instead (its easier to get away with and not as bad imo...)

I don't have any favorite woman comedians...
Does this mean you generally agree that women are less funny than men? A lot less?
Yes... a medium amount less
I like the movies that have the lines that you can repeat/use in your day-to-day life.
I tend to do that with Simpson quotes, especially if they are monkey-themed.
I got to use the word "Id" in Scrabble...
"Its one of the three components of the psyche!"

Thing that always bothers me about this sort of argument, is how can we agree that men are funnier than women when we don't agree what's funny. Most of the films listed so far I thought were awful. I've never heard of any of the female comics mentioned except Ellen Degeneres, who isn't very funny. I watched the Andi Smith posted by onifre, and didn't find it at all funny.
Without any clear agreement on what funny is, how can we agree who's best at it?

explanation (since you're czech)

Re: lurking
this is easily the best science'n'religion debate site I've encountered.
Everybody says that
Percy definately hit a homerun here with the software.
I have learned loads from this site, but I don't feel that my scientific background is strong enough to meaningfully contribute to any great extent.
It doesn't matter. Especially for the non-science topics. Having more diverse opinions makes this place better.
A female Brit is a new addition...

How on earth do you embed a video?
Right under the number of views is a button called "Embed" that opens up a line of code that you can copy and paste into the reply box.

Re: Embed?
All well and good, but where is the number of views?
Just under the video to the right. Right under the fullscreen button, right of the discription.
The Embed button is just to the left of the "flag as inappropriate" button. Just to the right of the "share" button.

My response has to do with his entire post, not just the individual words. It's part of those literacy powers I have: The ability to synthesize the entirety of a statement beyond mere individual sentences. Comments are not made in a vacuum but instead relate to comments made before as well as those later.
From my experiences, you're usually wrong about what you think the other person is thinking. At least for me, whenever you write: "So, what you're really saying is...." whatever follows that is not what I'm really saying and you've got it all wrong.
I think you assume the worst of people in order to have them in a more debatable position.
And one huge problem with your approach is that it violates the rules of this forum: Argue the position, not the person.

The more you repeat refuted claims, the more I get to say the same thing multiple times.
"Get to"!? Why would you want to? Its stupid and annoying.

Re: Fag?
Why he's acting like a douche about it I don't know.

First he is a "fag", now he's a "douche."
Using Rrhain's reasoning here I'm having difficulty in determining exactly where you want to fuck him. I'm so confused.
Yeah you are. Rrhain's reasoning is that Oni want to be fucked by Rrhain....

Ahh, OK. So if Rrhain is a fag I can see the mechanics here. But if he is now a douche ... ?
I guess that would mean Oni is "not so fresh", you know... down there.
Got any illustrations?
Do I!

Re: Fag?
Was Rrhain trying to douche Oni's dick? That might make sense
Yes, I think this is the logical outcome.
But I never did master Rrhainian Logic.
Actually, that should probably be "logic"...
