What does that have anything to do with anything I said? I have seen my fair share of those near me go through drug addiction.

My main point was: it's idiotic to arbitrarily say "drugs are bad, mmkay". What drugs? Why are they bad for EVERYONE? How is being addicted to cocaine any worse than being addicted to prescription painkillers? Oh, that's right, the "fda" says percocet and valium are ok, so there is nothing wrong with that sort of addiction. Who are you to tell me, or anyone than your own children what substance they can put in their body?

Where did I say anything about abuse of prescription drugs verses illegal drugs?? Sounds like a straw man to me.

Then maybe you should go upthread and see what kicked off this off-topic discussion.

I did...

And no where did anybody mention presciption drugs at all. What triggered it off was the comment about "bikers with drugs".

Where to Start?
I had a post done up yesterday, but it met a fate worse than death. Well, exactly like death, sept it wasnt alive to start with. Ok, its somewhere in the ether and heres a partial replacement with all the best bits left out. Actually, it disappeared in a preview attempt just at 5:45 PM.

Im glad, I suppose, that Im thought older than I am. My mum isnt currently of the same opinion. She spent a goodly portion of the week giving me grief about telling people that I didnt know information that they shouldnt have. I thank you all for your interest, but the Chief of Security has placed me on probation (half-hour/day), so Ill not be going into much about the visit. I dont think Id be giving too much away were I to mention that between Wednesday afternoon and Sunday morning I was stung by a bee on my right thumb.

I would have hoped that Googling it was assumed. Of course I Googled it. Ive Googled it eight ways till Sunday for the past 18 months. No one has yet come across with the real skinny and said dont eat the meat loaf. And I asked it of you guys here because you guys here are all the guys I have to ask it of.

Im not a shy teen. Im comfortabe speaking to people when something is to be said, but Im not a fan of gossipy jibber-jabber. Ive been told my idle chit-chat has the foul stench of bullsh*t. Im cordial, but not affectionate. Like I said: Ive two friends, both of whom live 90 miles away. Wed not likely be friends for long if they lived nearer by (And I dont recall having ever touched either one of them, and never but never broached Dr. Adequates suggestion .).

I dont much worry about anyone not liking me because of the color of my skin. I dont see the point of wearing a button that reads Attention Malefactors: Press Here to Offend Me. I do, however, detest people liking me because of the color of my skin. But good news, people disliked me for me .

My mum is from Ghana: a former Crown Colony. I was born in the Illinois. I did use mom the other day for effect. (Note, again, my signature.) I think mom sounds strange. But, if you search lyx2no posts youll find Uncle lyx2no used mom. He also said I use too many colons and semicolons: It shows an inability to separate ones thoughts clearly.

Bad Oni. You have been talking about me behind my back. havent you? There isnt much I can do about it though. If youre ever up this way I can meet you at the Mac Store at Wareham Crossing. What color van will you be driving? And yes, he did teach me everything I know. It was he that home schooled me up until he was no longer able to do so. That is why I started going to school school. BTW, I loved the line sitting in a kitchen holding a 6-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade and talking to Chris Hansen.

Oh! And one more thing, can any of you guys buy me some beer? I left my I.D. at home.

You are right. However in Message 35, you said:

Nothing, as long as they aren't doing drugs.
Doing the drugs makes thing bad.

implying that drugs are bad, without qualifying that statement. All I did was point out how ignorant a statement that was, since you just said "drugs", that must include prescription as well. Since I've made abundantly clear the asinine nature of said statement, and how far off topic this is, I say you drop it.

But maybe the "real skinny" is not "don't eat the meat loaf".

I presented you with statistics showing that in no way are you a "token black" at that school. The words "thank you" would have been a sufficient reward.

I begin to suspect that you just don't want to hear this. You've been homeschooled, and now you are frightened to step out into a society where you will be a minority and some people will overtly or covertly hate you for the color of your skin.

But that, after all, is what you're eventually going to have to do one way or the other. Eventually, you're going to have to live in such a society. You will be best equipped to do so if you start now.

Believe me, I know whereof I speak. I never talk about it in public, but feel free to contact me by a private message.

OK, but since you're underage no 6-pack. Just the one.

When you're done leave a tip for the bar maid.

Here. (_)?

Well, if you were living in my country you'd be able to drink when you turn 16 legally, so just move over here, and drink to your hearts content! Also, legal (well kinda) pot! Woohoo! Party your way through college!...

Wait, somehow you don't strike me as that kinda guy. Ah well, each his own i guess.

There is a difference between 'Doing drugs' and 'taking medicine'.

And over prescribed medication can be just as bad.... just as Rush Limbaugh at the trouble he got into.

Behind your back? Lol. That's impossible to do in an internet forum.

If youre ever up this way I can meet you at the Mac Store at Wareham Crossing. What color van will you be driving?

Dude, if you are 16 hopefully you're not getting lured into vans anymore. If you are, then I'm sure you know what you're doing at that point.

And yes, he did teach me everything I know.

It's like you're almost him. Is there anything about you that's original?

It was he that home schooled me up until he was no longer able to do so

I'm not following, I guess it's me though.

BTW, I loved the line sitting in a kitchen holding a 6-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade and talking to Chris Hansen.

Thanks, it's not mine though. Another comic, friend of mine, does this bit. If we're being honest.

Our Gods are Best Kept at a Distance
Hi Dr.

But maybe the "real skinny" is not "don't eat the meat loaf".

The real skinny at the school I currently attend is that one doesnt take a second semester courses in either of the two rooms adjoining the memorial garden: they get no sun in February nor air in May; also, the handle of the second urinal squirts water down ones shirt when flushed. I was unable to find either of these facts on the world wide web.

I presented you with statistics showing that in no way are you a "token black" at that school. The words "thank you" would have been a sufficient reward.

You are correct as usual; thank you, Dr. It is possible that I misapply token. My current school is well stocked minority wise, but it is non-the-less me that gets hauled out before the visiting dignitaries. I like to assume this is because Im brilliant, but that would require me to cherry pick the evidence.

and now you are frightened

Frightened? I dont know the meaning of the word. (Which sort of calls into question the quality of my education.) But I do know the meaning of the word pestered.

and some people will overtly or covertly hate you for the color of your skin.

I place little credence in the opinions of cretins. If they want to hate me, I simply wont hire them.

Thank you, also, for supplying post 24. My best joke for the week would not have been possible without you.

And Faith, If youre still perusing EvC, your theory of nothing good comes from error is skewered once again by the double entendre.

Oni, Im ome
It's like you're almost him. Is there anything about you that's original?

Is there anything about any of us that is original. It isnt very original of me to speak English, but Buzsaw has already taken speaking Notenglish, so that wouldnt be original either.

Did you notice a few lines down I also wrote He was my best friend and teacher.? Now, if Id a Freudian slip there and wrote instead Me was my best friend and teacher. youd of had me.

Well I've read in other threads that you were in Catholic school Source

quote:
I'm taking physics, chemistry, Earth sciences and biology with 1087, 979, 376 and 689 pages respectively. Both the Earth sciences and biology texts mention evolution for a grand total of 37 pages. I think we do better in my Catholic school then the kids in the public schools.

...you're also claiming to have been home schooled since 8th grade, by an uncle who spent a lot of time in the hospital (plus you and he have identical writting styles) so... it's throwing me off a bit. Some inconsistencies don't you think?

Did you notice a few lines down I also wrote He was my best friend and teacher.?

I did read that then but, I thought it was more in the context of "the uncle that teaches things," rather than your actual teacher, since on other occasions you claimed to be in Catholic school.

You said:

quote:
I am the oldest so I got his room, along with his books, rocks and computer. He loved arguing and telling me things. This site was on his computer. He had mentioned it more then once. I wanted to see what it was about.

There was no mention of him being your home school teacher. He liked to tell you things is what I gathered from this.
