First off, I think he is part racist. he calls himself a black man, yet he is half white. I understand his skin color is black, and he has had to go through what a lot of black people go through, which IS racism. I see it all the time. But, I think it is still wrong to call yourself something your not.
Sorry, riVeRraT, but that statement is either ignorant and stupid or it is racist. I won't judge which.

Your link describes the "one drop rule" which I find to be racist.
Of course it is racist. But "black" in not a biological term, it is a cultural term, and the one drop rule is what this racist culture goes by.

I would guess that there is lots of racism in NY. There certainly was when I was living in that region (in CT). For sure, there is still a lot of racism in Chicago. The amount of racism has been diminishing over time, but there is still a lot of it around.

(Just posting this to give you some hints on digging out information).
