Panspermia
I am not sure if this on topic or not but it seems to me that this bit of evidence would have a profound impact on the odds of there being life on other planets. I know that most of those other planets are a long way away but still, 'life will out'.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-11039206

Bacteria taken from cliffs at Beer on the South Coast have shown themselves to be hardy space travellers.

The bugs were put on the exterior of the space station to see how they would cope in the hostile conditions that exist above the Earth's atmosphere.

And when scientists inspected the microbes a year and a half later, they found many were still alive.

Re: Omnivorous Suspended 24 Hours
A one day suspension for that? Nice work Percy.

You evolutionists take it pretty hard when someone tells you don't want to hear , but you know is true.

Enjoy your forum.

Re: Omnivorous Suspended 24 Hours
Nope it is not true tough you would not know why since you do not read the replies.

To try to explain it to you

Since we have evidence for life, and evidence that life formed on a planet and there are zillions more planets out theremoste of us would go to say there is a 50% to a 95% chance of there being more life out there tough we are not 100% shure because we have not found any yet.

We have no evidence for a god, no evidence that there might be a god...., we do not need a god to explain the current situation so there is a verry slim chance of there being a god. In the range of 0.0000000001% to 0.002%.

No true logicaly orientated person would say i am absolutly sure there is life out there or no life out there, a god or no god. Without ACTUAL EVIDENCE FOR THERE BEING A GOD OR LIFE OUT THERE. AND SINCE YOU CANN NEVER TOTALY DISPROVE BOTH NOTIONS NO ONE CAN SAY THERE IS NO GOD OUT THERE AND THERE IS NO LIFE OUT THERE EVER.

Even if we sweep the entire galaxy and we find no life there is a slim chance of there being life in other galxies tough the precentage would fall drasticly. The same aplies to god.

Re: Bolder is a Liar
Did you stutter or have a brain seizure when you where editing out your quotes?

No, but I'm sure you did as you read it.

I think you are so utterly dishonest and so void of ethical standards whatsoever that you would virtually fabricate information just so you could seem more believable.

Fabricate information?

Did people type those words, or didn't they, Bolder? You asserted that "overwhelmingly, as in virtually without exception" that every evolutionists who replied in this thread expressed completely unqualified, total support for the notion of extra-terrestrial life.

Yet, in fact, not a single participant did so. There's not a single post in this thread that expresses that kind of support. Can you find even a single one? No, of course not.

Because you're a liar.

I am just gong to tell you something right now so you understand it very clear-I think you are a piece of shit.

I'm quite certain that you do.

Everyone came out with a minimum affirmation of probably.

Well, wait now. "Minimum affirmation of probably"? That's a far cry from the blind, unquestioning faith you repeatedly asserted earlier. So now you admit you were lying.

Now you have the gall to say it was some kind of trap I played? What the heck does that even mean?

It means exactly what I said it means - that no matter what evolutionists told you, you were going to accuse us all of "overwhelmingly, as in virtually without exception" having "blind faith in life on other planets, but not in God." I mean, never mind how many of the evolutionists here actually already believe in God - we're not uniformly atheists, not by any means - that was the accusation you were going to make, regardless. As you've now admitted:

quote:
I don't think the answers would have been different from anyone at all

Translation - you were going to make the exact same dishonest attack no matter what anybody said.

You're a liar, Bolder, and you've just admitted it. And you'll get away with it, because of the special rules for creationists. Well, that's fine - everybody knows what you are. Already knew, in fact. It's not like this is the first time you've utterly failed to demonstrate any degree of honesty, after all.

Re: Bolder is a Liar
Crashfrog clearly distorted the facts by butchering up quotes to make it look as if some evolutionists actually said they don't have a believe in alien life. that is a lie, and now you are repeating it.

A lie? Weren't you paying attention to the replies? Coyote came right out and told you that he didn't have a belief in extraterrestrial life:

Belief?
As Heinlein noted, "Belief gets in the way of learning."

Fess up, Bolder. You were always going to make the same accusation no matter what anybody told you. Did you even read any of the replies?

he conditions are right for it, aren't they?

In fact, you git, the conditions are precisely wrong for it - due to all the life that's already here. The inorganic high-energy molecules necessary for abiogenesis have long since been scavenged - ah, hell, why even bother? I doubt you have the mental capacity to understand even a single word in that sentence. I'd have more success explaining the conditions of the pre-biotic Earth and the RNA world to my cat than I would trying to explain it to you. Has there ever been even a single time you started a discussion to try to learn something, Bolder-Dash? How come that's something nobody can find any evidence of?

Please Focus on the Topic
Hi Bolder-dash,

First, please do not reply to informational messages from moderators concerning matters related to moderation and the Forum Guidelines. Such messages are not the topic of this thread, and this thread is not about suspensions.

Second, this thread is not about how hard evolutionists take it when someone tells them something they do not want to hear but know is true. If you'd like to discuss the possibility of life on other planets then that is the topic of this thread.

To All,

Anyone posting messages after this message that are about other participants and not about the topic will receive a one day suspension. If you posted before seeing this better edit quick. Be very careful if you reply to one of the messages with the subtitle "Re: Bolder is a liar." Better change the subtitle or that will get you suspended, too.

To Crash in particular,

Do not take moderation into your own hands. If you had instead posted the contents of your "Bolder is liar" post to the Report Discussion Problems Here 3.0 thread then a moderator could have taken care of it. As it is, now practically everyone in this thread is violating the Forum Guidelines, so how can a moderator take much action?

Please, no replies to this message.

BD writes:

I said: "It is possible."
quote:
Possible: Able to be done; within the power or capacity of someone or something.
Probable:Likely to be the case or to happen.
Anything else you want to be wrong about?

I Have Questions
Hello all,

I have one or two questions for those who have responded to BD's question in (more or less) the affirmative;

  • Do you know any specific details about the aliens, such as their names, their capabilities or what their opinions might be?
  • Do you think that the aliens care about us or have ideas about what they would like us to do with our lives?
  • Do you believe that the aliens have sent us any messages, perhaps in a radio transmission or maybe a book?
  • Do you believe that you can communicate with the aliens, or that they are in communication with you?
  • Do you have a personal relationship with the aliens?
  • Do you believe that aliens are responsible for the creation of the universe, the world, life or humanity?
  • Do you believe that the aliens are able to defy the laws of nature?
  • Do you consider your belief in the probable existence of aliens to be the most important consideration in your life?
  • Do you, of a weekend, like to go to a large building with a lot of other alien enthusiasts and sing praises to the aliens?
  • Have you ever donated money to any venture directed at alien life in any way?
  • Have you ever insisted in a court of law that your local school put the aliens on their science curriculum?
  • Do you think that those who belittle the aliens or mock belief in alien life should face criminal charges of any sort?
  • Would you be willing to kill in the name of the aliens?
  • Do you believe that, after your death, you will be transported to another planet to be with the aliens?
  • Have you ever spent time going door-to-door, trying to convince others to believe in aliens?
  • Do you believe that there was ever an individual who was both human and alien and that he loves you?
  • Do you ever hang around on internet forums making inept attempts at ridiculing those who do not believe in aliens?

You get the idea. Answers on a postcard please.

She: 7 of 9, but that was short lived.

No to all the rest. I could make guess as to sizes and body shapes in a limited fashion because they'd be constrained by the laws of physics. There are, for example, no stilt creatures seventy meters tall with legs as big around as rigatoni. Chemistry says they won't be composed of solid bismuth. And they'll hate spam (the eighth pillar of life.).

Re: I Have Questions

# Do you know any specific details about the aliens, such as their names, their capabilities or what their opinions might be?

NO

Do you think that the aliens care about us or have ideas about what they would like us to do with our lives?

Depends it is possible that they are more intelligent then us and think that we should strive to do better. It is possible they think of us the way we think of monkeys. It is possible that they do not know of our existence. It is possible they do not exist ..... in short i dunno

Do you believe that the aliens have sent us any messages, perhaps in a radio transmission or maybe a book?

Seriously doubt it tough you should ask the governments of the world.

Do you believe that you can communicate with the aliens, or that they are in communication with you?

NO

Do you have a personal relationship with the aliens?

NO

Do you believe that aliens are responsible for the creation of the universe, the world, life or humanity?

Seriously doubt it.

Do you believe that the aliens are able to defy the laws of nature?

No because it is impossible tough any sufficiently advanced technology would look like magic to the un advanced.

Do you consider your belief in the probable existence of aliens to be the most important consideration in your life?

NO

Do you, of a weekend, like to go to a large building with a lot of other alien enthusiasts and sing praises to the aliens?

NO, and a haha.

Have you ever donated money to any venture directed at alien life in any way?

NO

Have you ever insisted in a court of law that your local school put the aliens on their science curriculum?

NO and a ha ha

Do you think that those who belittle the aliens or mock belief in alien life should face criminal charges of any sort?

No tough those that would demand this should look for a therapist.

Would you be willing to kill in the name of the aliens?

NO, i might be willing to kill the aliens if they wanted to "probe" me

Do you believe that, after your death, you will be transported to another planet to be with the aliens?

No and a ha ha

Have you ever spent time going door-to-door, trying to convince others to believe in aliens?

No and a ha ha

Do you believe that there was ever an individual who was both human and alien and that he loves you?

No, and a brain teaser could/would an intelligent alien life force feel the same emotion of love as we do?

Do you ever hang around on internet forums making inept attempts at ridiculing those who do not believe in aliens?

No and a ha ha

So do my answers make me a religious alien fanatic placing my faith over the evidence ?

  • 7 of 9: Short lived because of her excessive stress on the first syllable of "assimilate". Resistance was paramount.
