My latest little ditty ...
Two By Two, Hurrah!
Antediluvian heteromyidae
must have belonged to a reprobate race;
God in his wrath at their sinful society
did for the lot of them (all but a brace).
Poor little pocket-mice, lacking in buoyancy,
must have been sinners in some sort of way
When God decided to show his annoyance, he
flooded the planet and made them all pay.
But fortunate fishes, though equally wicked,
felt unperturbed by the rise in the sea.
"You mammals are in for it now", they all snickered,
"somehow or other we get off scot-free."
Antediluvian ornithorhynchi
sinned against God, though it's doubtful they knew;
after he (wrathfully) had a good think, he
found a solution and drowned all but two.
Poor little platypods, up to their necks in it,
somehow attracted the deity's spite.
Though to the monotremes dying was vexing, it
(heaven knows why) must have served them all right.
But fortunate fishes, though equally evil
asked why the mammals would make such a fuss
and cried "Bring your Flood by the ocean- and sea-full!
--- isn't it wonderful weather for us?"
Antediluvian myrmecophages
irked the Almighty (oh, how did they dare?)
Yahweh, in one of his typical rages
slaughtered the lot of them, all but a pair.
Poor little anteaters, dying aquatically,
must have done something displeasing to him;
what other reason would cause him dramatically
thus to take vengeance on those who can't swim?
But fortunate fishes, forgiven their sins, and
not on the deity's tally of kills,
just swam around grinning and waving their fins, and
smugly continued to breathe though their gills.

Re: Picture caption competition.
Assuming that that's a mosque, I really can't think of a joke description of what they're doing and why they're doing it that would be funnier than a perfectly accurate account of the same thing.

Logician's Chat-Up Line
"Would your answer to the question "Will you have sex with me?" be the same as your answer to this question?"

Re: Answer to Logician's Chat-Up Line
Does this involve hobgoblins in some way?

One could always say "maybe" ... or "mu" ... or "Cottelston Pie".

If I have seen less far than others, it is because giants were standing on my shoulders.

If you stare at that for a bit and then look at something straight like the bars at the top of your browser they look all wonky and crooked.

LOL and so true. Every man has his price, I guess. Some are just cheaper (prostitutes) than others (big wigs).
It's taken me a day to parse that sentence correctly.
Dr A thinks: Hmm ... I see how you could bribe someone with prostitutes, but how do you sway him from the path of rectitude by offering him large hairpieces ... ?

Favorite Weapon
I'm fond of the caltrop. Because the correct way to deploy it is to drop it and run away.

I'm having trouble counting the signs asking for government handouts. Perhaps you could point them out to me.
