I live in Las Vegas, Nevada, and I have a Ph.D. in mathematics. Can anyone please help me to find work?
Indeed, this country doesn't seem to care that much anymore about educated workers.
Maybe we should start a thread about what would be the better world of getting jobs that mean something.
Imagine a world that does NOT value someone who can dunk a basketball from the freethrow line over a teacher....

Doc, you might look at the oil and gas industry. There's some very heavy math in the seismic processing field, and a bit in the fracturing area. Schlumberger, any company with "geophysics" in their name.....
And you could join me in raping Mother Earth.

Apply to an airline. My sister also is a mathematician. I remember years ago she applied to a couple airlines and immediately got offers. She ended up accepting an offer from some kind of nuclear research facility in Kentucky. Strange how that research place offered her almost 20k more than the airlines. Always thought you'd make more money with airlines.
Anyway, try airlines if you want to think outside the box.
