Application of creationist questions to ID
Not just simplicity, but absence of "extraneousity" (if I may coin a term for the existence of extraneous features).
This mean not only no vestigial features, but no poorly functioning ones when there are better functioning system in existence elsewhere.
Nuggin, msg 1 writes:
But the Intelligent Design side of the debate has yet to explain their "mechanics".
They also inherit a dumspter load of creationist challenges that also need to be explained in the ID vernacular:
If we were designed from a monkey base then why are monkeys still around?
If Intelligent Design makes new species out of old ones then where are the ones that show features from more than one old species - where are the "hopeful monsters" of ID?
etc etc etc
Enjoy.

and ID only works in the absence of any scientific knowledge of how {it\something} works, so it is based on ignorance.
ID also includes the necessary assumption that there actually is an {unknown} designer (instead of some unknown scientific explanation) without having any evidence or proof of the existence of one.
this is the definition of faith.
Thus ID is based on ignorance and faith.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

you of course realize that your position is fully exemplified by ragged's responses -- he is not looking for explanations further than god-did-it, and they are enough for him.

No no no no. That is not what I'm saying at all. You have completely misread my posts.
or you are too busy rationalizing your responses to yourself that you do not see it?

Welcome to the fray Devin.
The creationists also have the "all has been corrupted since creation" excuse for all the bad designs.
ID has no excuse for bad designs, nor for failed (extinct) designs, and the tree of evolution should be inverted for ID (all coming together into better designs)
Enjoy.
