Re: There had to be a first!
desdemona,
At the stage I'm at now,I honestly do not accept it as fact in my own life.
And what evidential reason leads you to reject evolution?
Note; this requires a knowledge of logic & science to answer. My informed guess is that you will reject evolution for unscientific reasons. Meaning you DO have a problem with science. Prove me wrong.

Re: There had to be a first!
Des, it's not so much a matter of trying to change anyone's belief system. It is a matter of a true understanding of what science and the TOE are. The TOE is NOT a belief system, it is a robust, well documented and evidenced scientific theory (and theory does NOT mean guess). There are many threads on evolution that you could join or we could start one. There are also many threads on biblical inerrancy or faith and belief. Threads could be joined or started there also. If you want to participate in other threads, and stay on topic, I'm sure I could convince my alter-ego to add more threads to your restriction.
If you want to start a new thread, in an appropriate forum then please propose one. If you would prefer that someone else start one then please let us know.

Re: There had to be a first!
Yes,got it,but they have not shown that the bible is wrong. There are some scientists who believe they may have, but there are many scientists that believe in a young earth. I believe that in this world, most things are based on faith, like knowing the sun will come out tomorrow, though we don't actually know that for a fact, though it's been repeated and generations of people are proof of that, yet the world could be destroyed before tomorrow.Just because a woman is pregnant does not always mean a baby will be born alive or healthy, and even Doctors cannot predict the outcome 100%.
Ideas can have alot of support and back up, and even some hints that it's correct, but to prove something means to show that for a fact it is this way and the whole world would have to see it. The fact that there is still a great amount of debate over this subject proves it's not fact. Those who are in the great debates are alot smarter than many of us. Some are scientists!
To me it's more about faith verses faith. We do not all view science the same way, not even the scientists. Yes,there are certain things about science that they all do agree about, evolution is just not one of them at this present time.

Re: There had to be a first!
It would be nice if someone could get one started.
I'm not sure where to get started on a new thread because there are so many topics to choose from. Since there are more who believe in evolution, maybe it's best to let them choose?

I have no problems at all with science. I didn't in school and I don't now.

Good girl!!!
I've been waiting for you to say something like this.
Although this is still a few steps away from rational thought, it is certainly a big improvement on your part.
Keep up your good improvement.

Re: There had to be a first!
Let me ask you a very serious question.
What do you think Scientists would do if tommorrow, someone pointed out one thing that could not be explained by the Theory of Evolution?

I have taken the liberty to propose a new topic
The Theory of Evolution for Desdamona
This is only a proposed topic. One of the other moderators must approve it. It is possible that a suggestion topic might be started to help make the original post and topic as good as it can be.

Re: There had to be a first!
desdemona,
& what information (& I mean real verifiable information) do you have to conclude anthing else?
I've already given you scientifically valid evidence that shows cladistics matching stratigraphy beyond reasonable doubt ( & then some) The information has already been given.

Re: There had to be a first!
Good suggestion.
Perhaps, & I think this is true of all non-sciency fundies, a "what constitutes science" thread is in order (again).
There are far, far too many people declaring what is & isn't scientific without a Scoobies notion of what is & isn't.
A "how to be consistent/logic" thread, too.

Re: There had to be a first!
Yes,it is a good suggestion by Asgara, however, lables and names you use when talking about those that disagree with you is not going to win converts or a willingness to change to your way of viewing things. It only inspires anger and yes, even christians will get upset and irritated at you. No one likes being treated ugly. I have learned to adjust to those who really don't agree with what I think, and they are o.k. with me. I

Re: There had to be a first!
Sounds good to me. It may help others who don't understand the people who take the side of evolution. I hope that people can benefit from learning both sides of the debate, and maybe even be good at debating one another as debating friends with no harsh or negative feelings about each other.

How do you mean "evidence" and beyond resonable doubt?
You have not even given any names and sources.
