There is no reason that the birther stuff cannot be multi-purpose. It's essentially hatred driven by racism and xenophobic irrationality. Gosh, and here I thought it was a concern for the integrity of the Constitution.

Of course. The Constitution requires that a President be born in the USA and they thought there was good reason to believe that Obama was born in Kenya.

Actually the evidence that he was born in Kenya is really pretty good, and evidence that the Hawaiian documents were faked is not bad either.
Mailman remembers Obama and Mary Ayers who called him a "foreign student." Girl on a rant covers the essentials about the "error" by the literary agent back in 1991' Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

Funny, this is really good evidence and you are the one who hasn't a clue.

I am SO impressed with the substantive and relevant comments to the information about Obama I'm just overwhelmed with admiration.

Clearly he was born in Kenya. If that doesn't disqualify him then why has everyone gone to so much trouble to pretend he was born in Hawaii instead?

I'd like to believe dwise is right and that Obama WAS born in Kenya, for which there is a ton of evidence, but that his mother's being an American citizen makes him one too. That way the Constitution isn't violated, which was the disturbing thing about all this.
But that raises the question why this wasn't recognized a long time ago, and also why nobody here seems to care whether the Constitution was violated or not.

You people thrive on lies and slander, there's really no point in trying to answer you. I haven't given this whole thing any thought in years but that doesn't matter, to you I'm persisting in voicing problems with Ted Cruz. This is the first time I've heard anything about Ted Cruz but nothing stops you from making me into a liar. Obvioualy the liars are those who deny on flimsy Jesuitical reasoning that Obama was born in Kenya. You'll go back and forth between claiming that's perfectly all right and that it's not true, he was really born in Hawaii. So is it all right or is it not true? You know what, I long since stopped caring. I went and found some evidence that he was born in Kenya. It's perfectly good evidence but I could not care less. People who care about truth are called racists and liars and everything is so corrupt there's no point in saying anything more about it. I'm used to being lied about at EvC so go ahead, pile it on.

Yes I've been corrected a number of times about being born in the US But being born in Kenya of a Kenyan father does disqualify Obama from the Presidency and you are all lying about that. Nobody is even bothering to make a case for it because you know it disqualifies him. You'll even go on to say well Ted Cruz has the same kind of situation. So OK, exonerate Cruz so you can exonerate Obama.

The evidence for Kenya is very good. The Hawaiian evidence is faked.

Well no, Faith, in the real world that would not disqualify Obama even if it were true as long as his mother was a US citizen. This is one of the arguments here, but only one. If it's true then there's no problem with Ted Cruz's candidacy so why is anyone making an issue of that? Let me know when you all come to an agreement on which story you all support.

It's not hard to fake documentary evidence of many kinds. But the evidence that the Hawaiian evidence is faked is mostly in the very good evidence that Obama was born in Kenya. His grandmother's testimony that she was there at his birth among other Kenyan sources; news reporters presenting his Kenyan birth as fact; the identification of Obama as having been born there in a statement by his literary agent in 1991, and many other statements of the same sort before he became a candidate fior the Presidency --- and the rush to get rid of all that previous evidence at that point sure does suggest that being born of a Kenyan father in Kenya does disqualify him, even in the eyes of some of his supporters. Again, you guys really need to get your stories together. And the mailman who was told by Mary Ayers that they were helping a "foreign student." And that's just a few bits of evidence I found.

Depends on whether it's Constitutionally okay for Obama to have been born in Kenya of a Kenyan father if it's okay for Ted Cruz to have been born in Canada of a Cuban father. I haven't been following the election preliminaries beyond noting headlines here and there and haven't given any of this any thought. I figure you all can decide if Cruz is Constitutionally eligible or not. I look forward to the welter of conflicting statements to continue as you all scramble to justify Obama by hook or by crook. Wish I had some potato chips. Prefer them to popcorn.

Religious faith = complete gullibility. It is a total surrender of one's mind to the cult leader. Akshully it's been so long since I thought about all this I'd forgotten the evidence and only went looking for it because of how you all slander those who believe O was born in Kenya. The blatant denial of that very good evidence sure says a lot about the cultic mentality of the deniers though.

I refuse to answer about Cruz because I have not yet thought about anything to do with his candidacy. Your transparent attempt to hang hypocrisy on me is reprehensible but par for the course here. The "tu quoque" mentality here is in general reprehensible. You can't discuss Obama without accusing the opposition. But in doing so you inadvertently confess that Obama is guilty as charged. Funny how that works. I'm still waiting for you all to come out with a Position Statement you all agree on.
