Gay Barbarian Horde Glitters Bachmann Clinic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCUX5rDPlis&feature=playe...
From the description (much more text there):
quote:
Today a horde of gay barbarians descended upon Michele and Marcus Bachmann's "pray away the gay" clinic and demanded that Marcus come out and discipline them for their "deviant" behavior.
Marcus Bachmann, who conducts "reparative therapy" at the clinic intended to convert homosexuals, has said that gays are "barbarians who need to be disciplined." The horde requested to speak directly with Bachmann and experience some "discipline" for themselves.
Don't miss the punchline towards the end.

(Guess Who) Thinks GOP Too Extreme
quote:
You know how far right the Republican presidential candidates have gone? So far that (guess who) is telling them they need to come back to reality. Seriously.
quote:
I believe it was Lyndon Johnson that said, ‘Don’t these people realize if they push me over to an extreme position I’ll lose the election? And I’m the one who will be supporting what they want but they’re going to make it so I can’t win.’ Those people in the Republican primary have got to lay off of this stuff. They’re forcing their leaders, the frontrunners, into positions that will mean they lose the general election. Now whether this did it to Cain I don’t know, but nevertheless, you appeal to the narrow base and they’ll applaud the daylights out of what you’re saying and then you hit the general election and they say ‘no way’ and then the Democrat, whoever it is, is going to just play these statements to the hilt. They’ve got to stop this! It’s just so counterproductive!

Re: Michele Bachmann hanging it up (or is she?)
'Cos she wanted to be President for at least four years, but two is enough for being a Congresswoman
This is her 4th term in the House, and will be 8 years total.
quote:
Here’s Michele Bachmann’s YouTub video explaining how wonderful she is and stating that she WILL run for public office if she decides it is necessary for her to save the United States of America from itself. She also states that it is necessary for her to save the United States of America from itself, so do indeed expect her to run.
Video available via source.

Personally, I was hoping she would crash and burn running for another house term. Now the Republicans have a chance to run someone (more) sane in the MN 6th.
I was listening to Minnesota Public Radio earlier today. They interviewed someone from the MN Republican party about the announcement, and all he said were vague statements. He was in the position that he couldn't claim she was a great representative, and he couldn't come out a say she was a crazy person. Unfortunately, they didn't also have someone from the Democratic party comment.
ADDED BY EDIT - More or less what I was referring to above: Downey: Bachmann would have won in 2014 | MPR News - Also, the audio I heard (link from previous cite): http://minnesota.publicradio.org/...s/media_player/popup.php - END EDIT
Re. the above quote - Maybe she is going to run against Al Franken (Relevant link in my Al Franken topic). There I had included:
quote:
Bachmann would go splat against Franken, and the big bonus: she’d lose her House seat as well.

As quoted at "Dispatches":
quote:
We have elected an ungovernable collection of snake-handlers, Bible-bangers, ignorami, bagmen and outright frauds, a collection so ungovernable that it insists the nation be ungovernable, too. We have elected people to govern us who do not believe in government.
We have elected a national legislature in which Louie Gohmert and Michele Bachmann have more power than does the Speaker of the House of Representatives, who has been made a piteous spectacle in the eyes of the country and doesn’t seem to mind that at all. We have elected a national legislature in which the true power resides in a cabal of vandals, a nihilistic brigade that believes that its opposition to a bill directing millions of new customers to the nation’s insurance companies is the equivalent of standing up the the Nazis in 1938, to the bravery of the passengers on Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, and to Mel Gibson’s account of the Scottish Wars of Independence in the 13th Century. We have elected a national legislature that looks into the mirror and sees itself already cast in marble.
We did this. We looked at our great legacy of self-government and we handed ourselves over to the reign of morons.
