It wouldn't surprise me to hear a moron like her say anything. Hell one of the steps could be making all sex illegal except between married couples trying to conceive...must be done after dark..with the lights out...under the covers in bed at home only...missionary position...no sound to be made...eyes closed... movement should be kept to a minimum...anything lasting longer than 2 minutes will be deemed obscene and the full weight of the chur...err uh law will fall upon you..

I've never found it so hard to keep my opinions to myself in front of clients,
I have had the same problem many times. For me it is usually more of a religious topic rather than political. People have just outright asked me "what church do you attend"? I usually try and side step the question by saying "my family has been members of.. (insert my dads church)..since before I was born. Then I quickly change the subject back to something I am doing for them...anything that has to do with the job. Politics Ii handle the same way, I'll make some meaningless blanket statement and try a quick redirect.
Christine O'Donell, S Palin and Bachmann would be completely amusing if there wasn't so many people who actually supported these morons. Buzz likes the word sheeple, that's what I see when I look at their supporters. IMO ther seems to be quite a few more sheelpe who blindly follow these morons without never doing a little thinking for themselves about whether these people really represent what is in their best interest.

I'd like to see a team up of Bachmann and Bolton in the WH as America's restoration
ROTFLMAO
I am surprised you didn't suggest Palin/Bachmann.

Re: Bachman drill baby drill! Perry pray baby pray
I just read a article where Bachman advocates the elimination of the EPA.
Of course, how else are we going to get $2.00 a gallon gas. Then we can open all the ANWR, drill for natural gas off NC, the wreckage from destroyed production platforms makes for great fishing spots. After our latest hurricane there would probably be several new ones. Nothing to draw tourist like the sight of drill/production platforms to look at while watching the sunrise.

Teaparty less popular than atheist
quote:
Polls show that disapproval of the Tea Party is climbing. In April 2010, a New York Times/CBS News survey found that 18 percent of Americans had an unfavorable opinion of it, 21 percent had a favorable opinion and 46 percent had not heard enough. Now, 14 months later, Tea Party supporters have slipped to 20 percent, while their opponents have more than doubled, to 40 percent.
Of course, politicians of all stripes are not faring well among the public these days. But in data we have recently collected, the Tea Party ranks lower than any of the 23 other groups we asked about lower than both Republicans and Democrats. It is even less popular than much maligned groups like atheists and Muslims. Interestingly, one group that approaches it in unpopularity is the Christian Right.

Too funny... Is there anyone in the Teaparty that isn't a member of the christian right?

Bachman
Bachman said the following at a speech in Minneapolis in 2006.
quote:
I didn’t know I wasn’t a believer. But they knew I wasn’t a believer, and they started praying for me. And all of a sudden the holy spirit started knocking on my heart’s door and I could hear the Lord tug me and call me to Himself, and I responded on November 1st of 1972, and I knew that I knew that I knew that I had received Jesus Christ as my lord and savior and that my life would never be the same after I made that commitment, because I knew what darkness looked like. I knew it from my home life. I absolutely understood sin, and I wanted no part of it. When Jesus Christ came in and cleaned out this dark heart, that was light. That was rest. That was peace. It was refreshment. Why would I ever want the world? I knew what that had to offer. This was great. That didn’t mean that I woke and all of a sudden I had money, all of a sudden I had position, all of a sudden I had education. It didn’t. But what it meant was that all of a sudden I had a father.
quote:
This spring, during one of her trips to Iowa, Bachmann asked the audience if anyone had heard of or seen How Should We Then Live? Many people applauded. She continued:
That also was another profound influence on Marcus’s life and my life, because we understood that the God of the Bible isn’t just about Bible stories and about Bible knowledge, or about just church on Sunday. He is the Lord of all of life. Every bit of life, including sociology, theology, biology, politics. You name the area and walk of life. He is the Lord of life. And so, as we went back to our studies, we looked at studying in a completely different light. Not for the purpose of a career but for a purpose of wondering, How does this fit into creation? How does this fit into the code and all of life that is about to come in front of us? And so we had new eyes that were opened up as we understood life now from a Biblical world view.

Interesting piece on Bachman from The New Yorker. I like her even less now. Totally not who I want to see running this country.

Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry have ties to Dominionism?
quote:
FROM CNN's Jack Cafferty:
Forget about the separation of church and state... there's reason to believe that religion might have a whole new meaning for the next occupant of the White House.
The Daily Beast reports that two of the Republican candidates for president - Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry - are "deeply associated" with a theocratic strain of Christian fundamentalism that's called Dominionism.
For those of you who haven't heard of it before, and I was one who hadn't - stand by cause this is "out there."
The Daily Beast writes how Dominionists believe that Christians have a God-given right to rule all earthly institutions. Dominionism finds its roots in a small fringe sect called Christian Reconstructionism. People who advocate replacing U.S. law with the laws of the Old Testament, including the death penalty for homosexuality and abortion. swell.

I had never heard of Dominionism until right now. Can it get any worse?

Sounds super scary. Not exactly someone I want with his/her finger on the button....or in control of anything to be honest.
