Ron Paul is interesting to me.
He mixes batshit crazy with some good ideas. Too bad about the batshit crazy part. The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it. - Francis Bacon "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers

Golden exclaims:
THE PROBLEM WITH THE REPUBLICAN PARTY...IS IT'S FULL OF REPUBLICANS. Oddly enough, this is also the problem with the Democratic Party - it too is FULL OF REPUBLICANS.- xongsmith, 5.7d

Say what?? If you could prefer 4 more years of Barry to any of the Republicans, you can't possibly be fairly conservative. You're either ultra-liberal or clueless. Wierd, you made a claim and then immediately contradicted yourself. Perhaps I am fairly conservative and clueless. But more likely, I'm just apathetic. Being conservatiev doen't mean you have to hate Obama and vehemently oppose everything he says. I can be conservative and just not give a shit and be fine with Obama. But I'm not very conservative, just fairly conservative.
Had the Republicans not taken the House, we all would've been taken for what we have left by the end of Barry's term. I haven't really noticed him doing much of anything. I haven't noticed any changes at all to my day-to-day life. I see no reason to think that I would have or will.
If he prevails for another term, we'll all end up poor and oppressed by Comrade Barry's totalitarian regime of lefty un-elected czars and civilian Red Guard type knee breaking thug army. I doubt it, why would I think that will happen? But I guess we'll see, because he's probably gonna win. And when the above doesn't happen, then what?

I changed my mind. I can't vote fore Barry. Oh, I'm not gonna vote for him. I was just saying that I'd be fine with him being president again. Its no big deal.
You live in Illinois, who was the last good politician that came out of the Crony Chicago Democrat Machine? I don't pay attention close enough to even name any of them.

As Cain Drops Out, Pro-adultery Voters Shift to Gingrich
Biggest GOP Voting Bloc, Experts Say CONCORD, NH (The Borowitz Report) — Herman Cain withdrew from the Republican presidential race today, a move that resulted in millions of pro-adultery voters shifting their support to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. The shift in support is significant because pro-adultery voters represent the single largest voting bloc in the Republican Party, experts say. Tracy Klugian, a prominent adulterer from Concord, New Hampshire, said he was sorry to see Mr. Cain leave the race because he was very committed to the one issue I care about: namely, adultery. But he added that he had been in touch with many other adulterers in the state and that they were all switching to Mr. Gingrich. Even when we were supporting Cain, a lot of us were supporting Gingrich behind his back, the adulterer said. I guess that’s how we do.

If gingrich wins the primary, then republicans would have zero excuse for being against gay marriage.

Here's the DNC's take on whether Romney is a flip-flopper (spoiler: they think he is).
I do not endorse this as being 100% fair and accurate, but they seem to have a point.

Did you guys see Michelle Bachmann yesterday say that intelligent design is a scientific fact? Her quote:
I want all facts on the table. Why would we forestall any particular theory? Because I don’t think that evolutionists, by and large, say that evolution is a proven fact. They say that this is a theory as well as intelligent design. So I think intellectually, the best thing to do is to allow all scientific facts on the table and let students decide.

Very true, but her opinion of creation represents that of all but one GOP candidate, so where does that leave this country?

Very true, but her opinion of creation represents that of all but one GOP candidate, so where does that leave this country? With some pretty easy choices next November?

Easy choices for people that think logically... What really amazes me is that 50 million+ people will vote in someone that doesn't "believe" in evolution (or science for that matter).

My fiance once worked with a woman who had graduated from a state University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, and did not believe in evolution. She was, in fact, outraged that she was "forced to learn that crap."
She was a fundamentalist Creationist.
