Re: dBoard 4.0 Release
I'm not sure what to call it, but when i attempted to use my ipod to access threads I was limited on which pages would load up. Specifically, whenI attempted to access threads with more than 8 pages(?) the posts would not load but the links at the top (profile, essential links, etc) would still appear. I could open the first page, and cyclde forward to the next few pages, but when i got to about the 5th or 8th page it would no longer load. I could not load them whether i used the 'next page' icon or the actual 'number' of the pages listed.
I could view the higher thread pages only after I logged in.

Re: dBoard 4.0 Release
I have no problem using my ipod to access the site when I'm on the road, and i've posted as well. I didn't have a problem before dboard 4.0 in accessing the higher page numbers of threads but the last time I tried (after the 4.0 release) the "higher numbered" pages would not load. When I clicked say, "page 63" either on the active topics list, or clicked zenmonkey's recent post #813, or after going to the first page of the thread and clicking "next page" at the point i reached "page 8", nothing would load and while the page looks relatively normal, with normal background colors and the top of the page with the "links", the actual posts would not load. It would look like just half-a-page, albeit a normal looking page, just sans the posts.
Everything worked only after I logged in. i could then access the higher numbered posts.
No big deal, just a wierd bug it seemed.

Re: Citing Member Ratings
Isn't the member rating just a reflection of the quality of the sum of their posts?
I don't know how hard it would be to code but it could be neat to see member ratings bound to each forum. For example: the member rating would reflect the quality of postings on particular forums. If a member posted in the "creation" forum, his member rating under his "name" would reflect the quality for the specific forum. The rating under his/her name would change depending on which forum the member posted on.
On a "biology" forum a members rating might be +50 but in a "bible" forum it might only be +20, and each specific rating would only show for that particular forum.

Re: Citing Member Ratings
I can only speak for myself but I've only rated posts I thought had particularly strong arguments, and for the vast majority of posts I don't rate them at all. Basically it is 5 or nothing for me.
I could be totally off my rocker thinking this, but I really think the majority of members here don't rate posts as negative just because they don't like the poster. It seems that even if someone gets a few bad ratings on an excellent post, the majority of "good" ratings would wash those bad ratings out.
I couldn't care less about the ratings myself. I see no indication that ratings have had an affect on whether posters cared about how strong their arguments are.
