is this your oblique reference to the idea that we need to live substantially different lifestyles in order to forestall global warming?
No. We will be living substantially different lifestyles much sooner than we had thought because global warming is here now, will get warmer over the coming decades faster than we had thought and will not be curbed no matter what we do.
If we stop poisoning our world today the problem may not get as bad as it would if we continue to ignore the issue. But, at this point, even if we stopped crapping in our nest immediately, we will be facing a much different world than the one we know and love much sooner than we had expected.
Adapt or die.
