Are you being serious AE or troll AE right now? The picture you paint with your tea party vs OWS is one that suggests you have bought into the media hype (while at the same time decrying the media?). It is through the media that this has become a conservative/liberal thing. This is something that I don't really understand: why the divide? Why are conservatives REALLY anti-OWS (aside from Fox news telling them to be against it)? What is the real reason? What does the OWS movement stand for (facts please) that has the conservative base so upset? And please, don't say "people asking for handouts" because that is not what the movement is about....
I expect you to answer seriously since, if you are in troll mode, you can take the role of conservative and provide reasons. Or, if you're serious: we all know you are a conservative at heart and can still provide evidence. At least just answer some basic questions without silly cartoons that are exceptionally skewed.

Of course not. But, even in light of all the evidence to the contrary, I'd like to think that people who label themselves conservative actually do think for themselves and base their opinion on at least some speck of reality.

Oh man, tut tut, peaceful protestors getting arrested for exhibiting their constitutionally granted freedoms is some funny shit. Police states are funny as hell too.

Re: If you have any doubts or questions about the Occupy Movement - go visit one
It isn't being reported that way, because the news media do have an agenda - especially Fox - to protect the big corporations and rich.
Fox tries to make it an : us vs them : liberal vs conservative : because it suits their agenda.
I am well aware of that fact and that wasn't my question, nor does it answer my question. Just look at our local conservatives: they are all 3 very anti-OWS. My question was directed at them....which is why I asked Artie... There is no doubt about the bias that plagues US media, let alone Faux "news".
If you have any doubts or questions about the Occupy Movement - go visit one ... who knows, you may end up learning something or (gasp) staying ...
I would love to. However, I don't get paid to take time off of work and the nearest protest is milwaukee and that only lasted for 6 hours a few weeks ago.

Oops. Did I say a few weeks ago? ROFL it was early October. Time flies when you do nothing......

Re: If you have any doubts or questions about the Occupy Movement - go visit one
Are you counting me?
Lol. I actually forgot about you, and you tend to be be either middle of the road or apathetic, both of which are hardly qualities of what would presently be considered a conservative. You may say you are one, but your "actions" (posts) say otherwise.
I asked a lot of questions.
And THAT, right there, is primarily why I left you out of the equation. How very un-conservative-like of you. (that sounds condescending, I think, but I assure you I do not mean it that way)
Er, wait, is this one of those 'if you're not with us you're against us' sorta things?
Not at all. You will notice that I sincerely asked AE what conservatives have against OWS and how it really differs from the TPers. Coyote and Buz were free to answer as well since, as he proved, AE is unwilling to have adult conversation or provide an actual answer.

But I think we have others, don't we?
I think there is a Euro member who doesn't post much that claims to be conservative. However, us Yanks would probably see him as moderate at worst.

Re: Is this the America you want to live in? that you want for your children?
Y’all should totally be armed at your protests,
Perhaps. However, that would most definitely escalate and the police brutality would be justified. Right now it is completely UNjustified and wrong.
the police aint stupid,
No, just violent thugs weho beat peaceful protestores who are excocizing their constitutional freedoms.
Basically act like a peasant, get treated like one.
"Act like a US citizen, get treated like a chinese dissident" is more like it. What right to peacably assemble???? Pfft what constitution?

Re: hear from a conservatively inclined but not entirely lunatic person
How is it "good" that a top-level executive can get a bonus at the end of the year that's more than ten times the yearly salary of their lowest paid employee, in addition to their own salary?
Not to mention CEO's taking in b/million dollar bonus's while laying off record amounts of employees. "My company tanked, I shitcanned a bunch of people, but I deserve a $2 million bonus"...

Re: really?
Take care of yourself and to hell with everyone else.
Unfortunately for the rest of us, YOU are a member of a society. YOU wouldn't last very long without being a member of a community (since homo-sapiens are social creatures, and all).

Re: really?
Orly? So you are telling me that you make use of NO public amenities? You don't drive on public roads? You do all of your business directly with the maker of all your products? You have your own septic system? Your own fresh water system? You obviously aren't completely off the grid since you are on the interwebs (which wouldn't exist without ....wait for it......a society!).

Re: really?
I'll have to take your word.......reluctantly. However, I have to say: it must be difficult to get around anywhere, what with not using public roads. It must be doubly difficult to post on EvC, what with not using the internet that is only here because of society. Must be especially difficult growing the tea the you boost from the ...store, is it? How do you shop at a store? is it your own personal store? It must be.
I think people such as yourself don't actually realize how much they need society......

Re: hear from a conservatively inclined but not entirely lunatic person
Calling average Americans "irresponsible" because they didn't somehow magically turn out to be better and smarter at economics and finance than America's economists and financial experts strikes me as the height of victim-blaming.
Funnier yet is the idea of labeling people as irresponsible when all they wanted was to live the American Dream..... and they were told by the experts that this "dream" was within their reach.
Wiki writes:
Home ownership is sometimes used as a proxy for achieving the promised prosperity; ownership has been a status symbol separating the middle classes from the poor.
