The definition of a parasitic baby
OK,
I'll take this on...
Although I agree with some of the premise, I think (it's a bit of a scattered post), the core problem with the argument is in the definition.
quote:
"an animal or plant that lives in or on another (the host) from which it obtains nourishment. The host does not benefit from the association and is often harmed by it"
Parasite - definition of parasite by The Free Dictionary
You have selectively chosen a quote which is vague on the definition regarding species. As I understand it, a parasite survives on a host of a different species. On this point, your analogy fails as an embryo is the same species as the host, so the definition does not stand.
e.g. (from Parasite Definition & Meaning | Dictionary.com)
parasite
  noun
1.
an organism that lives on or in an organism of another species, known as the host, from the body of which it obtains nutriment.
quote:
not ONE person posted science, law nor the bible to debunk the info inside the " Is the human fetus a parasite according to symbiosis?" wrong...NOT ONE!
so does this deserved censorship because some "butthurt" can't prove it wrong?
So, how did this 'butthurt' do?

Re: The definition of a parsaitic baby
quote:
then what's a parasitic twin
A parasitic twin applies to a only conjoined twin that stops forming properly in utero. This is a very specific case and an example of multiple uses of a term. Just like the big bang is not an actual explosion, regardless of the popular term used.
As the typical fetus does not stop developing in utero - this definition does not apply in this case.
True parasitism is a form of symbiosis which, by definition involves different species.
quote:
YOU ARE WRONG AND YOUR DEFINITION IS WRONG... I'M RIGHT
Actually, no I'm not and shouting about it doesn't prove it.

Re: The definition of a parasitic baby
Thumbs up ZD.
Thanks for finishing what I only had time to start (needed to leave for work about ten minutes before I started the reply). Actually, you explained it more completely than I would have. Here - have a smiley stamp
Galerouth - what he said.
