If religion is the source of morality how do you explain the fact that atheistic societies like the former Soviet Union did not experience eruptions of rampant immorality with lying and stealing and fornicating and murder at meteoric rates higher than any other country in the world?
Ummm, wasnt Stalin's government responsible for the death of like 20 million people? The most prolific serial killer ever known, Citizen X raped, murdered 53 children. I really do not know if the world will ever have a real picture of what the former Soviet Union has managed to cover up. Although I agree morality is not hinged on religion. But rather religion hinged to morality. Even if it seems not to be so. Using the USSR as a athiestic example of good moral behavior
is sort of like saying "well they didnt have god and look they werent that bad."
