Re: how populations evolve
"Here is what happened" to the doggy's
Once uppon a time on an island a doggy with webbed feat was borne had the doggy ben borne someplace else his trait of webbed feat would not be passed on with a grate enough frequency to become dominant it is even possible the trait would vanish from the population because webbed foot doggies cant run as fast. but on this little island food was running low and our webbed foot doggy could fish. Because our webbed foot doggy could fish he was not starving and he grew up to be big and strong and soon he became Pack Leader, as pack leader he could procreate with all the other females and each gave birth to 50% doggies with webbed feat. So now the number of webbed feat doggies in the population has gone way up. After numerous breeding cycles our fist webbed feat doggy could no longer be pack leader because he was too old and one of his sons took charge because no none webbed foot doggy could because they could not eat enough to be as big and strong as them. As this process of natural selection went on soon every doggy on the island had webbed feat. Then a doggy was borne to one of them who could hold his breath 2x as long as the other doggies enabling him to catch even more food with fare less effort ........

Re: Dog breeds are not the product of natural selection.
But it does convey a how evolution actually works, and since you all cant explain to him how evolution works in those fancy book learning words, i tried a different approach.

Re: how populations evolve - when is it "novel"?
So, my question will be: when environment changes, did the population has no time to go to another place to live for safety?
Africa is one of the worst places to live just about everything can make you sick its overcrowded, the weather sucks most of the time..... And still people live there why dont they go away find a better spot they have legs dont they?
Say Europe starts transforming in to a desert, a wolf or a doggy or whatever the animal can try to wander and search for food but it will either run into competition that has the home advantage, or it will find no better hunting grounds and all the energy it used in searching for greener pastures is wasted, and during a food shortage wasted energy = death.
Better example when there is a low population of rabbits and other animals foxes eat, the foxes start to loot chicken coops seems like a good idea at the time but that angers their competition Man, he gets his gun and shoots the fox

Re: how populations evolve - when is it "novel"?
2. Yes, there will be competition but the competition will never be the caused of those animals to evolve to another species. Either they fight or die. That means, natural selection has no part in the origin of species.
Grate now if 2 doggies are borne one has a "bad" mutation that makes him slow lazy and a bad hunter, the other has a good mutation making him faster stronger and a better hunter witch of these doggies will find a female and have children. Some of the children inherit this mutation.
This is natural selection.
3. And the low population of any organisms will never diminish the possibility of nat selc to that population, thus, showing that ToE and evolution is wrong. How low is low is maybe debatable but small population has no possibility of evolution.
Actually the possibility of evolution is grater a smaller gene pool has a better chance of excepting a trait as dominant if they are lucky that trait "good" if not its "bad" and they will likely go extinct. A relatively recent bottle neck in lions made their sperm all fucked up 3 headed sperm cells or 3 tailed ones ... normally this change would be filtered out by natural selection because it gives lions a worse chance of breeding successfully but since the gene pool was small the change stuck
but it dosent matter what i say or show you. I can tie you to a chair and force you to watch an experiment where purely trough natural selection and random mutation i make mice as smart as humans you would still deny that it happened. Why because it shatters your grate illusion of a god who made a special place for you after you die where you will meat all your friends and family and your pets, and where no evil atheist will try to make you open your mind.
