We'll be developing a giant mall in part of it.
Personally I hate shopping malls. But the infrastructure side of things can be reasonably interesting and it pays the bills.

Re: September Image
Ooh, tempting since NYC is only a few hours away, but we have plans this weekend. Raincheck?
Of course, anytime you want to come into the city.
Do any of your comic buddies know how big of a nerd you really are?
I can see you introducing Percy: "Hey guys, this is my online friend. He runs a discussion board where we argue with Christians about the finer points of cosmology, heh heh, *snort."

I have long hair and tattoo's...I hide my nerdome very well. Comedy is over run by nerds these days anyway. I don't know of any who debate EvC online though. I think I'm alone in that one.
I can see you introducing Percy: "Hey guys, this is my online friend. He runs a discussion board where we argue with Christians about the finer points of cosmology, heh heh, *snort."
It would be an honor...to introduce him as my cousin from Miami "Percy, quick, act Cuban."

Then we definitely won this war.

No doubt.
It's odd though, I'm guessing you work for a British company? Or I think you once mentioned Aussie? I kind of got this feeling when you said you guys were involved like, shouldn't it all be American companies building this thing?
I know it really doesn't matter, but have you guys faced any animosity like that for being a foreign company on what is now considered holy grounds for Americans?

Re: September Image
It's an Aussie company (hence the free beer on Fridays)
That is an interesting point about foreign companies developing the 9/11 site. I guess these days multinationals are almost nation-less. There is a big and fairly autonomous operation in the US but it is still ultimately an Aussie company.
I can get why you would prefer it to be US companies developing that particular site.

Not that I know of.
I'm guessing that most Americans (even those vaguely familiar with the company brand) don't know it's Aussie and assume it's American anyway.
I don't know if there would be any kind of backlash if it was more widely known to be non-US. If there was I think I'd support it (I'm not particularly into corporate loyalty)

That's right!

I think I'd be more inclined to care if it were foreign builders. Thinking about it more, I guess developers are just suits that are some-what behind the scene. I'm sure you guys will still be sub-contracting all the physical work to union construction companies. So technically, American hands will build it.
If there was I think I'd support it (I'm not particularly into corporate loyalty)

All together
Here's hoping any new structures built on the site are used to unify people to better purposes and not used divisively.
Enough damage was done - we need construction not destruction.
Hopefully the victims will be simply be remembered with love by those that knew them.

Xong,
Wrong appendage, I think it really is supposed to represent the middle finger.
Now let's see how long it takes for "terrorists" to use one of their drone missiles to knock it down again. Isn't this never-ending war against "terrorism" great?

Not all Native Americans prefer that term; some prefer "Indian."
We had a good friend who recently died. She would say, "It says 'Indian' on my birth certificate and I fought all through school because of that so I'm an Indian. I'm not no Native American."

Oh, sure, but I was talking about the actual history and origin of the word. Call somebody Indian for long enough I'm some might like it. But it was an incorrect name from the get go. Columbus thought he was in India.
