Re: Class disctinctions, poverty, materialism, quality of life
I looked on many sites to substantiate this and all of the sites refuted it.
Many sites? Really?
How about a transcription from the recordings from the church?

Transcribed by Ron McCloskey from the "St. Agnes Cassettes" recording.

Another priest lying?
OH and looks like quite well documented.
note: Fr. Emerson of the Fraternity of St. Peter was also a witness to this statement by Mother Teresa).

Re: Class disctinctions, poverty, materialism, quality of life
The quotes give nothing of the context.
Here is another quote of hers.
quote:
We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.
She grew up relatively wealthy and gave up all that she had to go live in the slums of Calcutta. There is always going to be people around who are prepared to tear something like that down based on a possible unthoughtful comment.
She was human and no doubt she wasn't perfect but she sure was prepared to sacrifice a million times more than I ever will. She was good enough for me to consider her heroic.

He has told you, O man, what is good ; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

I... guess, but even the most charitable interpretation of her ministry to the dying in Calcutta didn't, in a practical sense, really do any good for them. In almost every case she denied them analgesics and gave them water; as any hospice worker can tell you, giving water to the dying for the most part just prolongs their suffering. (Hospice instructions to families frequently caution them not to succumb to the false mercy of a glass of water.)
Completely outside the question of whether Mother Theresa prized suffering for its theological value, her actions certainly caused a great deal of needless suffering. A lot of people just have the wrong idea, factually, of what MT saw herself as there to do for the terminally ill of Calcutta - to make sure they were present and cognizant for every agonizing minute.

I think the point was, to the degree that she was able, to stop people from dying alone and unloved.

Fuck that. She made them suffer needlessly for her own greater glory. To make this response to what Crash posted is mind boggling and disgusting.

A recent survey by Penn State researchers of high school science teachers yielded the surprising results that an estimated 16% in the U.S. believe in creationism. With this large a number potentially spreading creationist doctrine, is it any surprise that the recent documentary ”Expelled”, about those who study the concept of intelligent design is so popular? Recently in the P.O.V. blog, writer Tom Roston has questioned the film ”Expelled’-but more for it’s techniques, and implications for future documentary productions.

What does that tell us about the differences between the teachers in the US and the UK? Or does it reflect anything at all about public opinion?
Teachers need to review Genesis and see that science supports much if not everything that is written therein, although the churches somehow screw up the bway they read it.
I mean, the Big Bang theory of 1940 was really aconfirmation of "In the beginning," which before was debated against an eternal universe.
Here is how I would teach Gen 1:1:
Gen. 1:1 In the beginning, (the Formative/Cosmology Era), God, (the Uncaused First Cause, or the Dark Energy which pre-existed the material Universe, perhaps), created... (all that which has followed the Big Bang from the singularity of Planck Time which consisted of
Seven Stages:
1) The Inflation Era
2) The Quark Era
3) Hadron Era
4) Lepton Era
5) Nucleosynthesis Era
6) Opaque Era
7) Matter Era,...
in an enormous Einsteinian energy transformation, E = mC^2),...
... the (matter composing the) heaven (beyond the Solar System) and the (accretion disk which congealed into the planet) earth.

Re: Class distinctions, poverty, materialism, quality of life
Oh,... if its ok to say why teaching creationism or Genesis is OK, I'd say that Class distinctions would disappear over time.
The Middle Class republican church going Class could explain how the bible makes sense to the lower Class, democratic party base which opposes religion because of abortion and contraceptive and sexual permissiveness.
Once they see that Genesis is actually scientifically correct when read properly, then the sexual prudence parts would have a chance of being aired.

I think I see what you are saying now.
It is difficult to get the message across in this medium because only short paragraphs are used to zip in the points made.
Long dissertations are ignored or poorly read, IPE.
But the argument is that the people who want the religious community to shut up make fun of their Creationism and stone walling of Science exactly for the reason of mocking religious ideas about sexual prudence.,
These mockers want the liberal sexual revolution to continue and enlarge into homosexual marriage and contraception which includes killing the fetus.
They erroneously say that no harm is done but Welfare and the violent crime that accompanies it is ignored.
So is the child abuse so extraordinary and common to fatherless kids.
The argument over Genesis occupies the church that ought be discussing the 60 years of sexual promiscuity which has destroyed American Family in general, as an institution.

Re: Class disctinctions, poverty, materialism, quality of life
Why are you so obsessed with sexual promiscuity? You're like a dog with a bone.

The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer.

Youi mean why are the points I make withreference to th Stats on crime and poverty so obsessed with Sexual Prudence?
The dogs, obsessed with their boners, are the one's who are sexually promiscuous in our society.

The stats you post are unrelated to your claims and have nothing to do with sexual prudence.
You must have crushed on some whore in the past who broke your heart by sleeping with someone you thought you were better than.
