It doesn't make any difference whether a theory is based on one verse or several. Bs'd Be that as it may, that still doesn't change the fact that the fact that God is one is not a theory, but a straightforward Biblical teaching. The trinity however, is NOWHERE to be found in the Bible, and must be distilled with several theories and deductions. And there are still groups of Christians which will not accept the trinity at all. . . In the service of Y-H-W-H, Eliyahu, light unto the nations "Hear Israel, Y-H-W-H is our God, Y-H-W-H is ONE!" Deut 6:4 "All the peoples walk each in the name of his god, but as for us; we will walk in the name of Y-H-W-H our God forever and ever!" Micah 4:5 . .

The Jehovahs Witnesses are a cult. Period. Bs'd They think that your branch of Christianity is a cult. Period. And so do the Unitarians. And they are right. Edited by Eliyahu, : No reason given. Edited by Eliyahu, : No reason given.

One or three or is it four.
A question for all. It involves consciousness which is the true measure of individuality. If God is one then he would only have one consciousness. Monotheist God If God has more than one consciousness then he cannot be a Monotheist God. We have four (title) to work with. Father, son, holy spirit and Jesus. I named 4 (titles). How many consciousness are there in those 4 (entities). Did Jesus have his own or was that God’s just riding a disposable mue body? So to speak. RegardsDL

Worshiping a whole divine family is polytheism = idolatry. It's as simple as that. And saying a hundred times "1 + 1 + 1 = 1" is not going to change that fact. God is ONE, and not three. That's what the Bible teaches us. The rest are all teachings of men.
שמע ישראל י-ה-ו-ה אלהנו י-ה-ו-ה אחד Hear Israel, Y-H-W-H is our God, Y-H-W-H is ONE. And you shall love Y-H-W-H your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. And you shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deut 6:4-9 Y-H-W-H, the one and only God who is one. Beside Him there is no God, no Buddha, no JC, no David Koresh; NOBODY. Whoever worships anything or anybody else than Y-H-W-H is an IDOL WORSHIPER.

If you can use the quote function, write coherently, and ask relevant questions, then maybe you'll actually contribute to the discussion.
C SYou answered nothing and like most Christians ran from a moral question showing that your are as corrupt as the average Christian. Blame me all you want though. Hypocrites always ends that way. RegardsDL Well, it was a big "IF"... Anyways, it goes to show that I was right when I wrote this:
quote: Let me know when you get around to finding a coherent argument.

That's what the Bible teaches us. The rest are all teachings of men. The Bible was wrong, that's why God had to send himself in the form of a man to get us to get it right. You're too focused on what letters appear on these pieces of paper to see the bigger picture of what we should actually be doing with our lives. Just be excellent to each other, that is what it is as simple as.

Can you understand the difference between "one clover" and "the clover is one"? I think you're trying to say that there's an unstated implication in the phrase "is one". You're trying to say that means "is one part", but that's not what the Bible actually says, that just your own man-made theory. Given that there is nothing else in the universe that "is one part", there's no reason to think God would be like that either.

In my eyes,
Jesus, if he existed, probably was a preacher who very critical against the Roman empire, and possible was trying to inspire another revolt. He did not exist 'in the beginnging with the father', He was not eternally begotten (These are not Jewish concepts) The Jewish expectation for Messiah is not a 'divine' messanger, god, or anything but an extraordinary person who does some very specific tasks. None of those tasks have been done... or perhaps ever will be done.

Lets assume that you are right and that G-d truly is One. What type of relationship do you have with your G-d? Do you realy think or imagine that all that He really desires for you to do is to go around ranting and raving about this whole idea that He is One?
The problem with JWs is that they have made an idol out of their teaching. They believe that they have to fervently do meaningless works like correct everybody else. Find me some who a actually feed the poor or visit anyone in prison or whom is sick. Do you do any of these things? If not, your faith without works wont help you. G-d is not impressed with you defending His Oneness. It is not enough. Peace

You realize that your entire post was an ad hominem attack, right? You attempted to assassinate the character of your opponent rather than making any kind of comment regarding his argument. Even if everything you accused were true, it would have no bearing on the subject of this thread.
ABE: Correction - you managed to squeeze an appeal to consequence in there as well. Nice going. The Bible was wrong, that's why God had to send himself in the form of a man to get us to get it right. Bs'd So the whole Bible teaches that God is one, NOWHERE in the Bible is anything to be found that says that God is three, and your reaction is: "The Bible is wrong"?? Well, I guess that is one way out of the problems, just throw the whole Bible overboard and follow the teachings of men.

Lets assume that you are right and that G-d truly is One. Bs'd It is not a matter of me being right, it's a matter of the Bible being right. The whole Bible, including the NT, teaches that GOD IS ONE. NOWHERE is it written that God is three or three in one.
What type of relationship do you have with your G-d? Do you realy think or imagine that all that He really desires for you to do is to go around ranting and raving about this whole idea that He is One? "GOD IS ONE" is not an idea, it is a BIBLICAL teaching. "God is three or three in one" however is NOWHERE to be found in Scripture. Not even in the NT.
The problem with JWs is that they have made an idol out of their teaching. Christians made an idol out of JC. Not the Unitarians, and not the JW's. It is therefore ridiculous to accuse them of being idol worshippers. You are the idol worshipper.
They believe that they have to fervently do meaningless works like correct everybody else. Find me some who a actually feed the poor or visit anyone in prison or whom is sick. Do you do any of these things? Yes I do. And how come you call these things "meaningless"? Is it because you don't bother to do any of them?
If not, your faith without works wont help you. G-d is not impressed with you defending His Oneness. It is not enough. But it is a great good deed. And yes, I go by the whole Torah, also the part that says: "Love your neighbour like yourself." . . In the service of Y-H-W-H, Eliyahu, light unto the nations "Hear Israel, Y-H-W-H is our God, Y-H-W-H is ONE!" Deut 6:4 "All the peoples walk each in the name of his god, but as for us; we will walk in the name of Y-H-W-H our God forever and ever!" Micah 4:5 . .

I think you're trying to say that there's an unstated implication in the phrase "is one". You're trying to say that means "is one part", but that's not what the Bible actually says, that just your own man-made theory. Bs'd The Bible teaches that GOD IS ONE. It doesn't state what is one, therefore God is one in every aspect. Simply plain ONE. And therefore not three, or three in one.
Given that there is nothing else in the universe that "is one part", there's no reason to think God would be like that either. The reason to think that God is ONE, is the fact that He says so in His word, the Hebrew Bible. . . In the service of Y-H-W-H, Eliyahu, light unto the nations "Hear Israel, Y-H-W-H is our God, Y-H-W-H is ONE!"
