hat many? Universities where they don't teach evolution or proper biology? Or proper geology?
The Christian universities are predominantly liberal arts schools. And you can avoid taking geology or biology courses at most any college. I did not take that stuff in college.

Re: It's a form of child abuse
You probably wanted NY State accreditation.
It was actually in Florida, which has pretty good laws for home schooling. I was just pointing out that NY had the toughest laws.
But perhaps the kids mom was looking for accreditation. I'm not sure. She was handling the details.

That makes sense.

Sure, I just meant how would they compete in jobs where those fields were a prerequisite.

Avoiding courses
I managed to make it to a Ph.D. without ever taking an Economics or Sociology course, and only one Psychology course--Logic.

How many such jobs are there? Aren't they far out-numbered by the jobs for which such educational background (let alone having taken just a class or two) is completely irrelevant?

Re: It's a form of child abuse
Just an FYI, A Beka Academy is in Florida and also provides science curricula. You really should take a look at their material and standards. Kent Hovind, Dr. Dino, is Florida based.
There really are no controls in the US on whether or not a teacher has any qualifications or what is taught. States can impose qualifications and curricula for State accreditation but have little or no say on what is taught in home schooling or the Christian Avoidance Movement schools.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

As onifre has found out by actually looking, the amount of control states choose to exercise over home schools varies. Some states allow the school superintendent to verify attendance, quality of instruction and coverage of at least the basic subjects. In some instances non-compliance is a crime charged against the parents. For example in New York, the requirements are fairly strict, whereas in Bible belt states where the public school systems themselves are low end, the requirements tend to be slack.
