Welcome to the fray! So far, so good.
Even though you're not crystal clear, and least you're nice and genuine.
Thanks! I'm trying...
So which one are you claiming that a Christian cannot be consistent with?
Taking the story of the bible as literally true leads to numerous issues that I don't think needs to be elaborated on (such as the creation of the universe in 7 days, etc).
Huh? Is there an extra "not" in there?
Are you saying that Jesus meant to say that the events in the story of the Good Samaritan actually happened in real life?
If you take the story of the Good Samaritan as literally true, it doesn't affect anything. The reading is still exactly the same, as a story can have a meaning whether it is true or not. Yes, it should be taken as a parable, but that point is irrelevant.
Jesus said that he would use parables to explain things. The events in the parables are not spoken of as if they ever actually happened in real life.
Sure, and the bible said these are parables (Matthew 13:34), giving you a good reason to take them as such.
That can actually be used to respond to most of your post.
That still creeps me out when people say that
Haha sorry, I used this forum as a form of entertainment for a month or so before making an account, so I feel like I know you all even though you have no idea who I am.
