Hi Faith,
With all respect,
After reading this response from you it is abundantly clear
you have absolutely no clue where homosexuality is concerned.
This is fine but realize these points.
1. If someone is homosexual they are or they are not. There is no in-between, so to think someone can just wake up and say " I'm not going to be gay anymore." Isn't how it works.
2. Living as a celibate homosexual is does not change the fact that the individual is still a homosexual.
3. If God is all powerful and all knowing he created homosexuals along with heterosexuals. In so doing condemned a large population of his creation to eternal torment and suffering because someone that is homosexual is not choosing to be such no more than someone can choose their eye color.

Why advice from Faith and Biblical Christians should just be laughed at.

So true and an eternity with the God you try to market and surrounded by bigoted Fundies can only be described as Hell.

Since Jesus said that lust is the equivalent of adultery, I don't see how celibacy makes any difference.

Well, I would wager to say that Jimmy Carter thought differently about this Jesus quote. Which bible?

The King James, of course, in God's own handwriting:
quote:
Matthew 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
My guess is that whosoever looketh on a man to lust after him hath also committed adultery with him, whether anything touches or not.

What Are YOU Looking At?

Whichever gender be the object of our sexual attraction, the issue is objectification and seeking only what you can get out of a person versus a desire to commune, learn from, love, and nourish that person.
Any dog can hump a leg, whatever gender the leg happens to be attached to. It takes a real hound to start a genuine relationship, however.

Apparently some can change, that's what many say they have in fact done at that site. I'm fully aware that some can't. What the difference is I'm not sure. It's not always like eye color.
Living as a celibate doesn't change your basic orientation but it does keep you from the sin that God condemns. The sin of lust in the heart can also be controlled but it takes work.

personally I like a little lust in my life.
Happens to everyone. If you want to feel bad because you lust it is your problem. Me I am just going to enjoy it.

Of course. If you don't feel that you have to answer to God's word you would just follow whatever feels good. The problem enters in when you believe it and want to obey it.

But why believe what you market?
But why believe what you try to market Faith when the source you claim is so filled with contradictions, discrepancies and outright false assertions?
I understand that you claim those don't exist but never provide support beyond references to other folk that also believe as you do. For the rest of us we find when we read what is actually written in scripture that the contradictions, discrepancies and outright false assertions do exist. We post the actual wording but your only response is either denial, silence or more references to others that believe or claim to believe as you do.

The contradictions are fabricated by you though you think you are jut reading straight. You aren't, you are misreading.

Re: But why believe what you market?
That's all you offer yourself. You give your absurd reading of a Bible passage and that's all you do.
And by the way if I were "marketing" my beliefs it would be nice to make some money at it.

Something needs to have some value before you can make money from it but there sure are a bunch of folks making lots of money marketing the same product you espouse.

I don't do "readings", I leave that to the Carny Spiel called evangelism. What I do is produce what is actually written.
