If you have AT&T U verse then you should be able to get internet and phone service service in one package (also TV-DVR as well) which should come through the same feed. I don't think you would need a standard phone jack as it would use the same hardware as your internet. I would expect it would save money over having internet and phone through separate carriers. Maybe you should look into that?HBD

You don't have to buy all three services, you can buy them in any combination, or just internet. I assumed she needed to plug into the wall jack because she had not purchased the phone through U-Verse. If she has this service then definitely the service guy should have hooked her up. Actually I can't imagine him leaving her without a working service that she had paid for. So that's another clue that made me think she had not bought the phone service - it would not have been his responsibility to connect her land line at that point (although he should have done it anyway).HBD

Yeah, it doesn't sound like you got the phone and TV-DVR portions. I would check into getting the phone added to your plan. It looks like it might be only an additional $10 per month to add phone service. Honestly the program is kinda confusing though, so it would be best to call or chat and ask a representative. Download and install malwarebytes free version from malwarebytes.org Then do a scan and it will remove all malicious programs (if you've never done it before you wI'll probably find hundreds). The adware you are having problems with should be detected and removed by the program.HBD
