Have to actually agree with Faith here* - argument by artist's impression is a dead end. After all, this doesn't look particularly human:
This one, on the other hand, wouldn't look too out of place if I saw him on the metro:
They are, of course, reconstructions of the same fossil (La Chapelle-aux-Saints 1), separated from one another by a century of cultural baggage and scientific study.
*about this specific post, not about the new fossils.

It would appear that the naledi foot is also very similar to modern human, maybe even more similar than the hand.
'naledi' is remarkably similar to the Czech for 'on ice'. So we have a creature dubbed 'man on ice' with feet very similar to our own. Only one reasonable conclusion:
