Re: Pence state rigging the election
Reference(s) please.
...Minnesota...
While the Republicans might have too much power in the legislature, we do have a Democrat governor and executive branch in general.

GWB & company started the war
Curiously, I want a leader that makes the right initial choices.
I certainly hope you voted for the Democratic Presidential candidates, and not George W. Bush or some third party candidate (I voted Dem).
Otherwise, you were not in opposition to the regime that started the Iraq war.

Faith's election results message
Faith's Window: O Happy Day!
The entire thing:
quote:
Thank You, Lord, for saving the nation from a Hillary Presidency and giving us a man who knows the difference between good and evil, whose heart is in the right place, who loves this country. Keep us praying, though, because the forces of evil aren't going away. Now more than ever we need God's protection.
It's like she thinks Jimmy Carter is going to be president again.
Trump may know the difference between good and evil, but that doesn't mean he has high moral character.
Somewhere along the line, I'm going to get my "Trump = Andrew Dice Clay + a lot of money" follow up message.

Moose recap and new comments things Trump
I had a number of what I thought to be good little posts at the "Oh No, The New Awesome Primary Thread" topic.
EvC Forum: Oh No, The New Awesome Primary Thread
Those included the topic subtitle "Andrew Dice Clay + lots of money = Donald Trump" and the message "Doing the most epic stand-up comedy tour ever."
The joke was on the Republican party when Trump took the nomination.
The joke turned to be on Trump when he won the Presidency (related reading: Nonreligious Questions ).
Now my hopes are that Trump will turn the joke back onto the Republican Party - Renominate Merrick Garland as his choice for the Supreme Court.
Imagine if and when Trump starts treating members of Congress like he treated the other Republican candidates and Hillary.
Donald Trump is an egotistical asshole. The question is how much of the presentation is the real Donald and how much was the actor/comedian Donald?

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's Uninformed Voter Comment (and follow up)
Professor Weighs In On Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's Uninformed Voter Comment : NPR
quote:
Steve Inskeep talks to Morehouse College professor Marc Lamont Hill, who says it's important that Americans, who may be considered to be uninformed citizens, vote in presidential elections.
First few paragraph from the cite:
quote:
STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:
Let's talk about a modest proposal by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The former NBA star was on the program last week and made a suggestion in this election year. In a new book, he says many American voters have not really looked into the issues, and he went on to suggest a solution. Stop encouraging people who don't want to vote to vote.
(SOUNDBITE OF ARCHIVED RECORDING)
KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR: Ignorance is not something that lends itself to a meaningful discussion. Some of these people really shouldn't vote because they don't know what the issues are, and I think people that are, you know, voting in the blind are doing a disservice to our country by not being better informed.
INSKEEP: The many people who responded include Marc Lamont Hill. He's a writer and a professor at Morehouse College in Atlanta, and he was on social media saying he was dismayed, if that's the right word. Professor Hill, why is that?
MARC LAMONT HILL: Well, first of all, thank you for having me. And let me say from the beginning that, you know, I love Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and I appreciate the spirit of his comment. But I'm very concerned whenever we begin a conversation about who should and shouldn't vote. The reason why I'm concerned is because there's a long history of saying certain people shouldn't be voting. And, unfortunately, the people who are often left out of these conversations are people who are black and brown.

Re: Hmmmmm
quote:
Most of those are in heavily Democratic Detroit, where the number of ballots in precinct poll books did not match those of voting machine printout reports in 59 percent of precincts, 392 of 662.
I'm not sure what this means, but it certainly should be looked into.
I presume that "the number of ballots in precinct poll books" means the election judge records counting the number of ballots given out to voters. This should match the number of ballots in the ballot box (hope they have a paper trail) and the voting machine (counting machine, or was the voting purely electronic?) printout.
As I recall from the source, there is also indications of tampering of the sealed ballot bags, which would seem to indicate tampering with the paper trail.

Favored Hillary, voted for Donald
I think this might explain a lot.
The general attitude going into election day was "Hillary has it in the bag, Donald couldn't possibly win".
Now suppose that the needed number of voters for Hillary to be elected via the electoral college did indeed prefer Hillary over Donald. Still, a significant number of these voters were not inclined to vote for Hillary. Many either didn't vote, voted third party, or... voted Donald. Yes, preferred Hillary but voted Donald.
Being a joker, one inclined towards a protest vote, or one just plain stupid (or ?), some of these people voted for Donald. All they thought they were doing was "throwing away their vote" to someone who couldn't possibly win.
Tell me, that in the context of this election, this doesn't make sense.
"VOTE TRUMP - HE CAN'T POSSIBLY WIN".
