Anatolia isn't "Greek," necessarily. The oldest known human ruins were in that region and has traded hands multiple times. The Hittites, Phrygians, Byzantines, Romans, Ottomans, Greeks, Mycenaeans, and now the all-encompassing "Turks." All called it home at one point. Not to mention the pre-historical people's.
