It says a lot for the current state of the country.
His major issue was the inability to connect with domestic issues. There was a huge recession during most of his presidency, and there was a continual denial that there was. When it finally was acknowledged, it was 'But it's getting better now' (It wasn't).
On the other hand, he was brilliant when it came to foreign policy, even when i disapproved of his goals. He also knew enough not to get involved in a foot war in Iraq.
